Save up to £435 on Panda's best cooling mattress for couples in big summer sale
This is your chance to save 25% on Panda's bamboo cooling mattress before the summer sales end
The Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress Pro is our top pick for those looking for a breathable mattress to keep them cool at night, and today there’s up to 25% off in Panda’s summer sale. That means you can buy a double Bamboo Pro Mattress for £967.50 (was £1,290) at Panda London, with a 100-night trial, 10-year warranty and free mattress installation with old bed removal too.
We rate the Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress Pro as the best cooling option in our guide to this year's best mattresses for all sleepers and budgets, scoring it highly for temperature control. That's thanks to a double whammy of natural breathability from bamboo, plus better airflow around the coils inside the mattress (by comparison, all-foam beds trap more heat).
Panda has also just released a new cheaper mattress, the Hybrid Bamboo Mattress on sale from £486.75 (was £649) at Panda.
Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress Pro
Was: from £950
Now: from £712.50
Saving: up to £437.50 at Panda
Summary: As stated in our Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress Pro review we rated the mattress as a medium firm feel, offering support for most sleepers. It’s a good choice for back, side and stomach sleepers, as well as heavier bodies, although we did feel that some lightweight side sleepers might find it a little firm. The brand’s own orthopaedic OrthoAlign foam ensures good pressure relief while keeping the spine aligned. Temperature regulation is also excellent, with the bamboo cover, bamboo-infused foam and well-spaced coils boosting airflow and dissipating excess heat. We also scored the Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress highly for motion isolation and edge support, meaning this is a great choice for those bed-sharing couples who overheat.
Price history: While Panda London has fairly regular discounts on the Hybrid Bamboo Mattress Pro, it’s also decided to discount its brand new mattress, the Hybrid Bamboo Mattress, in the summer sale. With up to 25% off, this means you can pick up the cheaper Hybrid Bamboo at £599.25 (was £799) for a double at Panda London, while the Pro version costs £967.50 (was £1,290) for a double.
Benefits: 100-night trial | 10-year warranty | Free white glove delivery and old mattress removal
What type of mattress should hot sleepers choose?
We rate this year's best hybrid mattresses as the ideal choice for people who want a good balance of support and comfort, coupled with a little bounce and excellent breathability. The latter is thanks to a combination of foams and coils that keep air moving through the mattress, preventing heat from becoming trapped.
This isn’t always enough to keep a mattress cool, so manufacturers use speciality foams and naturally breathable materials to enhance cooling. Bamboo, wool and cotton are all breathable, helping to wick moisture away from the body and release heat from a mattress.
You’ll also find foams infused with gel, graphite, charcoal or carbon or specialist cooling materials such as phase change materials. These can all work in conjunction with the coils in a hybrid to reduce heat build-up and improve airflow.

Jo Plumridge is an experienced mattress reviewer with several years' experience covering all things mattresses and sleep, and who tests memory foam, hybrid and organic mattresses. What Jo doesn't know about a boxed mattress isn't worth knowing, so naturally we tasked her with producing a series of features for Tom's Guide looking at all aspects of mattresses, from how to pick between latex and memory foam (it's a tricky one), to the seven mistakes people make when buying a mattress for the first time. When testing the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid for Tom's Guide, Jo said: "I loved the back support and pressure relief it offered. Plus, it looks far more expensive than it is." When she isn’t writing about sleep, Jo also writes extensively on interior design, home products and photography.
