The Saatva Graphite Memory Foam and Saatva Natural Latex are both premium mattress toppers that can make an instant difference to the feel of your existing mattress. While both are designed to offer cooling comfort and are suitable for all sleeping positions, there are key differences between the Saatva Graphite and the Saatva Natural Latex toppers, which we outline in this comparison article.
Saatva is the luxury sleep behind the best mattress we've tested this year, but the brand's toppers are also an excellent solution if you want to add more comfort or support to your bed without spending a large amount. The Saatva Graphite Memory Foam is the brand's most popular topper, and it ranks highly in our guide to this year's best mattress toppers for every budget, while the Saatva Natural Latex Topper is the most durable option.
In this Saatva Graphite vs Saatva Natural Latex comparison, we look at how each bed topper differs in terms of design, comfort, support and price to help you choose the right option for you in this year's Black Friday mattress topper sales.
Saatva Graphite vs Saatva Natural Latex mattress topper: Price and trials
- Both come with a 180-night trial and a one-year warranty
- A queen-size Saatva Graphite costs $295
- A queen-size Saatva Natural Latex costs $445
All Saatva mattress toppers come with a one-year warranty and a 180-night sleep trial. While the trial length is impressive (there are full-blown mattresses that don't come with sleep trials that lengthy), we would expect a warranty much longer for mattress toppers in the premium price bracket.
Nevertheless, both the Saatva Graphite and Natural Latex come with these extras plus free shipping, but be aware that Saatva toppers are rarely on sale – even in this year's Saatva Black Friday sale. This means you'll likely buy them at their MSRP. At full price, a Saatva Graphite is $295 for a queen and a queen-size Saatva Natural Latex is $445, making the Graphite Memory Foam a much cheaper option.
Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Mattress Topper: from $215 at Saatva
The Saatva Graphite Mattress Topper is priced at $295 for a queen, making it the second least expensive Saatva Topper. You'll won't find this topper in this month's best Saatva mattress sale unless it's part of a sitewide discount (so you'd have to buy the topper in addition to other qualifying items), so there's no reason to wait if you want to buy it. You'lll have 280 nights to try it out too.
Saatva Natural Latex Mattress Topper: from $325 at Saatva
The Saatva Natural Latex is the brand's second most expensive mattress topper thanks to its natural, durable materials. A queen is a premium $445, but you will get 180 nights to see whether you think the topper is worth the money (especially when you consider that it likely won't be covered in the Black Friday mattress sales).
Saatva Graphite vs Saatva Natural Latex mattress topper: Design & materials
- The Saatva Graphite is 3" thick and made of graphite-infused memory foam
- The Saatva Natural Latex is 1.5" and made of natural latex foam
- Both have organic cotton covers with anchor straps
Both the Saatva Graphite and the Saatva Natural Latex feature organic cotton blend covers that have been treated with Guardin™ botanical antimicrobial treatment to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew. They also both have anchor straps to keep the topper from shifting on the bed and are designed to be compatible with all Saatva mattresses and other mattress brands.
The key differences lie in height and core materials. The Graphite is 3"thick and is built from graphite-infused CertiPUR-US certified memory foam, making it ideal for most mattresses and sleep positions. The Natural Latex, on the other hand, is just 1.5" thick and made from natural latex foam.
While this is much thinner than the Saatva Graphite's 3" frame, it does use durable, eco-friendly, and hypoallergenic materials for a cleaner, non-toxic sleep. However, with its thinner frame, we wouldn't reccomend the Natural Latex to those with older mattresses. Saatva Graphite vs Saatva Natural Latex mattress topper: Comfort & support
- Both are designed to offer pressure relief for all sleep positions
- We rate the Graphite as 6/10 (medium-firm) and best for back sleeping
- The Natural Latex Topper is designed to add a responsive feel
In our Saatva Graphite Mattress Topper review, testers loved how well the bed topper supported back sleepers, making the Saatva Graphite a more cost-effective alternative to buying the best mattress for back pain.
We rated it a crowd-pleasing medium-firm (6/10), so it's suitable for both stomach and side sleepers as well as back sleepers. (However, keep in mind that testers said they needed some time to break-in the topper when sleeping on their stomachs.) It offers "exceptional" pressure relief, especially in the lower lumbar, too.
We haven't had the opportunity to test the Saatva Natural Latex Topper ourselves, but we know from experience testing other latex toppers and mattresses that natural latex tends to have a very buoyant feel.
This unique, responsive feel is perfect for those who tend to switch positions throughout the night, but may not be a great choice for those who love the body-hugging feel of memory foam. Saatva says that the Natural Latex was designed for back sleepers in particular, so you're likely looking at a medium-firm topper.
Saatva Graphite vs Saatva Natural Latex mattress topper: Cooling features
- Both have breathable, moisture-wicking organic cotton covers
- The Saatva Graphite's graphite-infused foam kept our reviewers cool
- The Natural Latex is naturally breathable thanks to vented airflow channels
Both mattress toppers are designed with moisture-wicking cotton covers to add breathability for those who sleep hot or have a mattress that traps heat. The Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Mattress Topper is infused with cooling graphite to draw away body heat (a common temperature-regulating tactic found in many of this year's best hybrid mattresses and this year's best memory foam mattresses).
Our testers found this mattress topper had a subtle cool-to-the-touch feel and compared their experience testing this topper to be on par with some of the top cooling mattresses they've tested.
While we haven't tested the Natural Latex, a look at its naturally breathable materials is promising. Natural latex is porous with vented air channels, which maximizes airflow for a cooler sleep,
