Tom's Guide Verdict
The Coop Home Goods EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow is designed for anyone who tends to sleep hot and wants an adjustable pillow. The cooling gel-infused plus-shaped memory foam pieces can be removed or added to create a flatter, fluffier, or firmer pillow, and there's plenty more cooling tech to help you avoid overheating. It also has a dual-firmness feature, meaning it can be flipped over for a softer or firmer sleep experience. The MSRP of $139 may put some people off, but it performed well overall in our testing and it'll be worthwhile for someone who sleeps hot and hasn’t found the right pillow yet.

Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: Review in Brief
The Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow is the second most affordable option of Coop Home Goods' range of four cooling pillows, but it doesn't come in cheap at $139 for a single queen sized pillow.
However, it is packed with cooling technology (we rated it as the best cooling adjustable pillow in our best pillow guide this year), and it's designed for any sleeping position, so we tried it out for two weeks to see if it delivered.
As a light sleeper who wakes frequently during the night; our lead tester was happy to report that they found this pillow contributed to a restful night’s sleep overall. Generally side sleepers will want a thicker pillow, back sleepers a medium pillow, and stomach sleepers a flatter pillow. Our tester was a combination sleeper, who slept mostly on their side and occasionally on their back.
The good news is that the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow comes with plenty of extra fill (an extra half pound to be precise), so you can make it thicker and firmer (or flatter) to suit your sleep style. During the two weeks of testing, our reviewer removed some fill for a flatter and softer pillow, and added the extra fill for a fuller and firmer pillow experience.
Type of pillow: Adjustable foam fill cooling pillow

Price: $139 Queen/ $159 King
Dimensions: Queen 17"x 27"; King 17 "x 33" ; two inch gusset

Warranty: 5 years
In fact, the various ways you can adjust this pillow are a big plus, as they make it right for just about anyone. You can even customize it further thanks to the dual-firmness feature, meaning you can change your sleep experience by flipping it over; one side has a layer of phase change gel memory foam for a firmer feel while the other layer allows you more direct contact with the fill for a fluffier, softer feel.
We slept on both sides of the pillow during the two week testing period and did find that the fluffy side sometimes felt too fluffy, with our lead tester reporting a strange sensation as she found her nose in direct contact with the pillow throughout the night.
Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: was from $139 $111.20 at Coop Home Goods
This is an extremely comfortable pillow despite some minor quibbles. The ability to add or remove the cooling gel memory foam fill and flip the pillow over for two different textured sides mean it's likely to work for just about anyone. You can purchase it directly from Coop Home Goods, where it currently has 20% off, and you'll get free shipping and returns, a 100-night sleep trial and a 5-year warranty. It's also available with 20% off on Amazon, however, you’ll be subject to Amazon’s 30-day return policy.
While it wasn’t quite as actively cooling as we would have expected given it's considerable cooling tech, including the cool to touch cover, heat-wicking inner liner and the brand's proprietary Oomph™ Cool+ cooling gel memory foam and microfiber fill, it didn’t trap body heat either. Our tester slept on it during the warmer months of summer and found it more of a temperature-neutral pillow. Another plus is that the cooling memory foam fill is comfortable to sleep on, with just the right amount of give.
If you're looking for a similar pillow to compare this to, read our Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology review (from $149 for a standard size) and the Coop Home Goods’ Original Adjustable Pillow review (from $75 for queen). Both offer some of the same features, with the Casper sitting at around the same price point and providing even more cooling for hot sleepers, and the Coop Home Goods Original providing adjustable fill at a lower price.
One area our tester did find it lacking in was maintaining its shape all night long; it does tend to flatten a bit throughout the night if you keep your head in the same spot, so they moved around and occasionally fluffed the pillow as needed. The directions do state that you should fluff the pillow after each use, but our tester sometimes found themselves fluffing it in the middle of the night to revive flattened sections.
Overall, we gave this pillow 4 out of 5 stars, as we found it to be very comfortable, rating the adjustable fill and its neutral temperature. It didn't quite reach 5 stars because of it losing its shape, as well as it not quite delivering on keeping sleepers actively cool.
Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: Price and Deals
- Retails from $139 in a queen-size
- Currently has 20% off at Coop Home Goods and on Amazon
- Comes with a 5-year warranty if purchased directly from Coop Home Goods
This is a luxury pillow that sits at the higher price end of the market, though it is the second most affordable cooling pillow from Coop Home Goods. The MSRP for the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow is $139 for a queen size and $159 for a king size pillow.
Throughout the year we often see discounts, such as the current 20% off at both Coop Home Goods and on Amazon, where this pillow also retails. This reduction means a queen size is currently $119.20, while a king comes in at $127.20.
It's also worth noting that this pillow comes in three shape options, the classic and a crescent and cut-out shape, though the latter two have MSRP's of $149 for a queen and $169 for a king. However, they currently have 20% off as well.
Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: Design and Materials
- Cool to touch cover and heat-wicking inner liner
- Fully adjustable with proprietary “Oomph Cool+” gel memory foam fill
- Dual-firmness with one firmer and one softer side
This pillow is specially designed for hot sleepers and is fully adjustable, with a cool-touch cover and heat-wicking inner liner to aid in cooling.
Coop have included this pillow's Qmax Score (a measure of a fabric’s ability to disperse heat). The higher the score out of 0.5, the cooler a fabric is to the touch, and the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow pillow’s inner liner has a Qmax Score of 0.34 while the outer cover has a score of 0.38. Both of these beat out popular fabrics like cotton, bamboo, silk, and Tencel.
The fill is 100% virgin foam, both GREENGUARD Gold and CertiPUR-US certified, making it free from any harmful chemicals and a more eco-friendly option. Each bit of proprietary cooling “Oomph Cool+” gel memory foam fill is made from a blend of microfibers and hypoallergenic memory foam and is shaped like a plus sign for extra breathability. The adjustability comes from the additional half pound of fill provided, allowing you to customize the firmness to suit your sleep style.
One side of the pillow has a heat-wicking, phase change gel memory foam layer for a firmer sleep experience. The other side has just the cover and liner between the foam fill and your head for a softer sleep experience.
Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: What it's like to sleep on
- Arrives in compact packaging and inflates within five to 10 minutes.
- Adjustable firmness to suit all sleep styles
- Cooling tech provides a temperature-neutral sleep
Set-up
The Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow arrived in three pieces, rather compactly packed into a shipping box: the pillow itself, the pillow cover and a half pound of extra fill.
The pillow was rolled tightly in shrink wrap. When the shrink wrap was cut off, the pillow started unrolling and inflating itself immediately, taking about five or 10 minutes to inflate to its full size. There was a slight off-gassing smell that was only noticeable when placing your nose directly into the pillow and it dissipated in a day or so. This differs to the Coop Home Goods Adjustable Pillow, in which our reviewer noticed a very strong off-gassing smell.
Our score: 4 out of 5 stars
Firmness and support
Our reviewer reported that this is a very comfortable and supportive pillow. They didn't wake up with any neck pain at all. It’s really designed for any sleep position; with our tester recommending removing some fill for stomach sleeping, leaving it as is for back sleeping, and adding extra fill (if desired) for side sleeping.
We did notice that when it was used as is, or with less fill, we really sunk into the pillow. If you don’t like that sensation, you can flip it over to the firmer side, and/or add extra fill to make the pillow firmer overall. It’s also important to note that the pillow does flatten a bit as the night goes on, so you may need to fluff in the middle of the night. And, you will certainly want to fluff each morning when you wake up.
Our score: 4 out of 5 stars
Temperature regulation
The proprietary cooling “Oomph Cool+” gel memory foam and microfiber blend fill is shaped like tiny three-dimensional plus signs. The shape gives the pillow some loft and allows heat to disperse. Plus, there's the cool-touch cover, heat-wicking inner liner and option to sleep on the side of the pillow that features an additional gel foam, designed to further wick heat away from you as you sleep.
Our tester slept in a lightweight “cooling fabric” short-sleeved nightgown and cranked the air conditioning every night since they were testing it during the warm summer months.
While they didn’t notice any active cooling, they also didn't feel any heat-trapping either. This pillow felt more neutral, temperature-wise, though we did test during summer so that's no bad thing.
It's also worth noting that our tester put a 100% silk pillowcase on the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow. During the testing period, I slept on a Beautyrest Harmony Lux mattress with a Naturepedic Adagio Organic Latex Mattress Topper, and alternated between Coop Comphy CoolSpa sheets and an old microfiber sheet set.
Our score: 4 out of 5 stars
Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: Durability and Care
- Great build quality
- We recommend daily fluffing to maintain loft
- Machine washable outer cover
Build quality
The Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow’s build quality is excellent. The pillow looks and feels great and seems to be a durable product that will last for years.
The only concerning aspect in terms of durability is that the pillow itself can only be spot-cleaned. You can wash the outer case in a washing machine, but not the pillow itself. Cheaper, traditional pillows can be tossed into the wash, but generally foam-filled pillows cannot, so this is not particularly unusual. But it just means you'll need to take extra care to wash pillow cases as soon as any spills or stains occur, so they don't seep into the pillow itself.
Our score: 4 out of 5 stars
Care and maintenance
The care instructions tell the customer to fluff the pillow by hand and allow it air out for a day before using. In fact, you should take a few moments each morning upon waking to fluff up the pillow in order to maintain its loftiness.
The outer cover can be machine washed in cold water with a mild detergent on a gentle cycle. No bleach or fabric softener should be used. The cover should not be dry cleaned or ironed; it should be completely dry before use, though you can tumble dry it on low heat.
The inner pillow should not be machine washed or dried at all. It should only be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent, taking care not to use an excessive amount of water. These instructions are similar to the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology and the Coop Original Adjustable Pillow.
Our score: 4 out of 5 stars
Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: What we liked
✅A cool sleep experience: While we didn't notice any active cooling with this pillow, we tested it during warm summer months and didn't overheat.
✅Adjustable fill: The additional fill that comes with this pillow means you can customize it to suit your sleep style.
✅Different sleep surface options: As well as the customizable fill, this pillow also has a dual-firmness feature, allowing for the choice between a a firmer and a softer surface to rest your head on.
Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow: What we didn't like
❌ The premium price: With an MSRP of $139 for a queen and $159 for a king, this is definitely a luxury pillow. However, sales can see that price reduced.
❌ Slightly high maintenance: While this pillow was swift to inflate to its full shape on unboxing, it did require some fluffing during the night to maintain its shape. Not being able to throw it in the wash is another slight downside.
Should you buy the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow?
While no pillow can be perfect for everyone, we'd recommend the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow to most people. It doesn’t sleep hot at all, and it's a comfortable pillow. The cooling memory foam fill can be added and removed to your liking, creating the perfect amount of fluff and firmness for your needs.
Another plus is that one side of the inner pillow case has a thin layer of gel memory foam which adds smoothness and firmness if you choose to use that side. The other side, without this additional layer, is better for a softer sleep experience.
While it's an excellent pillow, it’s not without faults. It does tend to flatten at night. The manufacturer recommends that you fluff it each morning upon waking but we occasionally found myself fluffing it in the middle of the night. The fact that you cannot toss it in the washing machine means that it’s not a forever pillow; you’ll have to replace it when it becomes soiled.
It’s not cheap, but if your pillow is keeping you up at night, or you're looking for a customizable option, the Coop EdenCool+ Adjustable Pillow is worth the investment.
