Boxing Day mattress sales 2024: Editor's choice
1. Nectar Memory Foam Mattress: from £331.55 in-cart at Nectar
This is one of the best memory foam mattresses we've tested and it's always on sale – but now it's available for even less during Boxing Day. An extra 5% discount applies in-cart, which brings the price of a double Nectar Mattress to £474.05 (was £499). We recommend the Nectar because it suits all sleeping styles, doesn't retain heat (a drawback with most other all-foam mattresses) and contours the body to relieve pressure points for less aches and pains. Nectar gives you a year to trial it at home to make sure it's right for you, plus you'll get a forever warranty and free and fast shipping.
2. Emma Essential Mattress: from £189 £141.75 at Emma
This is the cheapest hybrid mattress in the Emma Boxing Day sale, and because it stands at 7 inches tall we'd recommend it to people shopping for medium-firm kids beds, and to people looking for a budget-friendly way to upgrade a guest room bed. The best mattresses in a box we've tested are a minimum of 10" tall so the Emma Essential is much thinner and therefore won't offer the comfort and support you'd need if you weigh over 150lbs. If you want a hybrid that supports heavier bodies look at the DreamCloud Hybrid below. Emma offers a 200-night trial on the Essential so you'll have plenty of time to make sure it suits your body and sleep style.
3. DreamCloud Mattress: from £356.25 in-cart at DreamCloud
The Nectar above is ideal for people who want a more contouring mattress that gently hugs their curves. But if you want a firmer mattress that sleeps cooler and offers lots of lower back support (more than the Nectar), then the DreamCloud Hybrid is worth considering – especially with an extra 5% off in-cart. That brings the cost of a double to £498.75. It's a great hotel-style mattress without the luxury price tag, but it does take longer to break in than some other hybrids we've tested. After a couple of weeks sleeping on it though this is one of the best hybrid mattresses we've reviewed and an ideal choice for couples who don't know what type of bed they like.
4. Brook + Wilde Elite Mattress: from £800 £536 at Brook + Wilde
The Brook + Wilde Elite is a premium hybrid mattress that offers exceptional pressure relief with its 8-layer design and choice of firmness options. Ideal for side and back sleepers and those seeking luxury comfort although stomach sleepers may find it too plush. If you’re looking for a slightly firmer feel at a similar price point then the Simba Hybrid Pro is a good alternative but the Brook + Wilde Boxing Day sales mean you get 33% off all mattresses, this brings the cost of a double size Elite down to just £603 (was £900) plus you get a 200-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty and free premium delivery.
5. Origin Hybrid Mattress: From £594 £309 at Origin
The Origin Hybrid mattress offers exceptional value bringing together premium memory foam with pocket springs. It’s perfect for back and combination sleepers seeking medium-firm support, although strict side sleepers may want something softer like the Emma Original. The mattress also excels in temperature regulation and motion isolation. Origin has an epic Boxing Sale deal on this mattress with one of the lowest prices we’ve seen all year, right now there’s up to 45% off, so a double is down to £379 (was £729) plus it comes with a 200-night sleep trial, 15-year warranty and free delivery.
6. Emma NextGen Premium Mattress: from £449 £314.30 at Emma
The Emma NextGen Premium is a luxurious hybrid mattress that combines premium foam layers with innovative spring technology to offer exceptional pressure relief and temperature regulation. This mattress is ideal for side and combination sleepers who are seeking plush comfort, although it will be too soft for strict stomach sleepers or those preferring a firmer feel. Sleepers who are looking for a firmer feel should consider the Simba Hybrid Pro which also has enhanced lumbar support. Emma has slashed their prices this Boxing Day with up to 40% off site wide which is more than we saw in the recent Black Friday sales. This brings the cost of a double NextGen Premium to £461.30 (was £659) and you also get a 200-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty and free shipping.

Boxing Day mattress sales 2024: What you need to know
When do the Boxing Day mattress sales start?
Traditionally Boxing Day mattress sales begin right after Christmas on December 26th, with many retailers launching their deals at midnight or early morning hours.
However, some mattress brands start their Boxing Day promotions a few days before Christmas, allowing early-bird shoppers to secure the best deals and potentially have their mattresses in time for the New Year.
How long the Boxing Day deals run does depend on the individual retailer, some will limit their sales to just one day, but the majority stretch out offers until later in the month before launching their January sales prices.
Are Boxing Day sales a good time to buy a mattress?
The Boxing Day sales often contain discounts from leading sleep brands. You will find discounts ranging from 15%-50% off regular prices, as well as some mattress brands offering additional perks like free bedding bundles.
A mattress is a long term investment so it’s important to make sure you’re choosing the right mattress before you buy, no matter how good the sales price is.
We recommend making a list of those mattresses you’re interested in before the Boxing Day sales start and then when the sales begin you’ll be able to guarantee the best mattress for you is at the best price.
How to spot a good Boxing Day mattress deal
When shopping the Boxing Day sales for a mattress, it pays to be prepared. Our team of experts has done a lot of the hard work for you, and recommend keeping the following in mind when choosing between deals:
- Sleep trial: Look for mattresses offering at least a 100-night sleep trial. This gives you plenty of time to properly test the mattress and decide whether it suits your sleep style.
- Clear returns policy: Ensure the retailer offers hassle-free returns and clearly states whether there’s a cost to return the mattress and who will cover the shipping costs.
- Price jistory: Mattress sales happen all the time which means that prices and vary, but it’s worth checking out the price history of your chosen mattress so that you know when the best time to buy is. Typically, we see the bigger discounts towards the end of the year like Boxing Day and the start of the year when the January sales start. But there are some retailers who offer same evergreen discount all year, so always check the price history.
- Does it have a good warranty: Regardless of how good your mattress is, it does have a lifespan and for a typical bed that’s usually between 7-10 years. So make sure you check for a good warranty period, ideally you’ll want a minimum of 10 years as that will cover the life of the mattress and also double check what the warranty covers and if it included defects and sagging.
- Delivery: Not all mattress companies offer free delivery, so before you decide to buy, check out what the delivery terms are and whether it’s free and includes the removal of your old mattress as these two things can add a significant amount on to the cost of your mattress purchase.
