The Averatec AV3220H1 may not be the fastest device. Still, the score it chalked up is sufficient to handle daily business tasks quickly.

Regarding the battery run time, the Averatec AV3220H1 holds a slight edge. At the same time, we need to factor in that the battery capacity of the Averatec mobile PC is 80 percent greater. Also, at just more than two hours run time, this result is just as unimpressive as that of Asus.
The Bottom Line
Like its predecessor, the 3150P, Averatec's AV3220H1 may not be perfect, but it is a very cost-efficient, ultra-portable notebook with quality components. In terms of improving the quality of the chassis, Averatec took great strides with its new product. The basic configuration, which costs $1000, even includes a WLAN 802.11g module. Still, we would give the nod to the slightly more expensive model with 512 MB (for another $50). At the same time, the battery run time, is somewhat short (2 hours). Therefore, adding a second battery for $100 makes sense. In contrast to its competition, Averatec does not offer a high-capacity battery. Due to its excellent price-features ratio, we rate this notebook as "good," although just barely.
