For that reason, expecting any form of a discount on the PS5 console would be foolish. In the current climate just being able to buy a unit at standard retail price is considered a bargain. We can confidently say the odds of a Cyber Monday PS5 discount are virtually zero.
That doesn't mean there won't be savings worth taking advantage of though. Plenty of PS5-related items, especially games and accessories, are expected to be slashed in price during the Cyber Monday period.
PS5 games are the obvious candidate for discounts and some of the year's best titles like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, Resident Evil: Village, and Deathloop are already enjoying heavy reductions at several retailers.
PS5 accessories will also experience deep discounts. Even official Sony PS5 accessories like the Pulse 3D headset have seen money knocked off throughout 2021, so they could hit an all-time low price for Cyber Monday. Could the DualSense controller get its first proper discount as well?
