Verizon is rated as one of the best phone carriers in the US and for good reason. Not only is it a great option for the best cell phone plans, but it also has the best customer service rating and it's the fastest network in many speed tests.

The carrier offers plans on all of the key handsets you'd be after. That means the iPhone 16, Google Pixel 9, Samsung Galaxy S25, and plenty other popular devices.

Verizon is offering the Galaxy S25 for free with eligible unlimited plans. Plus, you can choose from a free Galaxy Watch 7 or Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G with the purchase of your phone. The Galaxy S25 features a 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display w/ 120Hz refresh, Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU, 12GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. You also get a 50MP wide, 12MP Ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP front camera. In our Galaxy S25 review we said the performance and battery life boosts alone make this year's upgrade worthwhile.

iPhone 16 Pro Max: $15/month w/ unlimited @ Verizon
The iPhone 16 Pro Max packs a 6.9-inch 2868 x 1320 OLED display with 120Hz refresh, A18 Pro CPU, and 256GB of storage. Rear cameras include a 48MP main (f/1.78), 48MP ultrawide (f/2.2), and 12MP telephoto (5x, f/2.8). There's also a 12MP (f/1.9) front camera. Pixel 9: free w/ trade-in + unlimited @ Verizon
Verizon is offering the new Pixel 9 for free with trade-in and a new eligible unlimited plan. The base Pixel 9 features a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2424 OLED display, Tensor G4 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Rear cameras include a 50MP main and 48MP ultrawide, whereas on the front there's a 10.5MP camera. In our Google Pixel 9 review, we said the new AI features, upgraded cameras, and bigger battery make it a worthy contender, in spite of the $100 price increase.

iPhone 15: free w/ new line + unlimited @ Verizon
This Verizon phone deal is great for Apple fans who don't mind owning an older phone. Trade-in any phone and you'll get up to $830 off an iPhone 15. Note that you'll need to activate a Verizon unlimited plan. In our iPhone 15 review, we said its design, excellent main camera performance, and long lasting battery life (11 hours and 5 minutes) make it a formidable phone worthy of your attention. It features a 6.1-inch 2556 x 1179 OLED display, A16 Bionic chip, 48MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, 12MP front camera, and USB-C connectivity.

Galaxy S25 Ultra: $5/mo w/ new line @ Verizon
Verizon has the Galaxy S25 Ultra for just $5/month when you open a new line. The phone features a 6.9-inch QHD+ display w/ 120Hz refresh, Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. You also get a 200MP main (f/1.7), 50MP telephoto (5x, f/3.4), 10MP telephoto (3x, f/2.4), 50MP ultra wide (f/1.9) lens. There's also a 12MP (f/2.2) front lens and 5,000 mAh battery, which is the largest battery of all the S25 phones. In our Galaxy S25 Ultra review, we called it the ultimate Android phone.

Pixel 9 Pro XL: $5/month w/ trade-in + unlimited @ Verizon
Verizon has the Pixel 9 Pro XL available for $5/month with trade-in and a new unlimited data plan. It features a 6.8-inch 1344 x 2992 OLED display, Tensor G4 chipset, 16GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Rear cameras include a 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and 48MP telephoto. On the front you'll find a 42MP camera. In our Pixel 9 Pro XL review, we said the phone sets records for having the brightest screen and longest battery life of any Pixel phone. However, it packs the same camera arrangements as the Pixel 9 Pro, which is the better value.

Galaxy Z Flip 6: up to $800 off w/ trade-in @ Verizon
Verizon is offering aggressive Galaxy Z Flip 6 promos. Trade-in an old phone and you'll get up to $800 off Samsung's new foldable. The phone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED (2640 x 1080) inner display w/ 120Hz refresh, 3.4-inch AMOLED (720 x 748) outer display w/ 60Hz refresh, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. You also get an upgraded 50MP f/2.2 main and 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide rear cameras and a 10MP f2.2 selfie cam. Galaxy Z Fold 6: up to $800 off w/ trade-in @ Verizon
Verizon is taking up to $800 off the Galaxy Z Fold 6 when you trade-in an older phone and open a new line with unlimited 5G data. The offer is valid through July 23. The phone features a 7.6-inch OLED (2160 x 1856) 120Hz main display, 6.3-inch OLED (2376 x 968) 120Hz cover display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. On the rear you get a 50MP f/1.8 main wide-angle lens, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, and 10MP f/2.4 telephoto lens. Selfie cams include a 10MP f/2.2 outer lens and 4MP f/1.8 inner lens. In our Galaxy Z Fold 6 review, we called it an impressive foldable with new AI powers wrapped in a lighter and more durable design.

Galaxy S24: free w/ trade-in @ Verizon
New and existing Verizon customers can get the Galaxy S24 for free (up to $800 off) with trade-in of any older Samsung phone in any condition. Note that you'll need to sign up to an eligible Verizon Unlimited plan to score this deal. In our Galaxy S24 review, we said it delivers some of the strongest value of Samsung's latest flagships, offering the same Galaxy AI features as its pricier counterparts. It also boasts strong performance upgrades and battery life improvements. It features a 6.2-inch AMOLED 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. On the camera front, you get 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto (3x optical zoom) rear lenses and a 12MP front camera

Is Verizon a good carrier for phone deals?

Yes — in fact, Verizon ranks as No. 2 right now in our best phone carriers guide. This position comes down to a couple of key factors but mostly, it's due to its speed and coverage.

When we've done tests on the LTE speeds, Verizon has been the highest performer. Its 5G reaches more than 70 cities and we've seen it easily offer 1Gbps download speeds.

Combine Verizon's expanding 5G service with its extensive LTE network, and that's pretty comprehensive coverage. Verizon's overall 5G speeds don't quite match those of its rivals — the carrier's nationwide network isn't nearly as fast as Ultra Wideband — but performance is strong on the carrier.

However, Verizon is by no means an affordable carrier and is frequently one of the most expensive options. You will likely find cheaper prices from T-Mobile or maybe even AT&T but its high performance makes up for this cost.

What kind of promotions does Verizon offer?

Trade-in: Verizon has a number of great offers when it comes to phone deals but the main one is its trade-in promo. Verizon can offer you up to $1,000 off when you trade in on a large number of its phones.

However, this is a maximum amount, reserved for high value (that is, newer and more expensive) devices. But even if you're trading in a budget handset, you should see a pretty significant reduction in price on your new device.

Verizon recently extended its trade-in scheme to also cover old or or damaged phones (as long as they are free of battery damage). This obviously won't get you as much but its nice to know if you have a damaged phone.

Upgrades: If you're an existing Verizon customer, you will have the option to upgrade. This is going to give you a number of pretty big discounts across a load of handsets when you log in. This is limited to unlimited plans and Verizon doesn't always offer this kind of discount so it is worth checking when you upgrade.

Free plans: On a number of cheaper devices like the iPhone SE or Moto G Stylus, you can often get the phone for free. You do have to take out an unlimited plan, and the "free" part of the deal comes in the form of monthly bill credits, but this is a great promotion for those who know they'll be investing in a budget handset.
