Newcastle’s away day woes continued earlier this week as they traveled to Luton Town and were soundly beaten by the newly promoted side. The scoreline may have only been 1-0 to the Hatters, but that doesn’t reflect the match. Luton should have won by more. This result compounded a miserable couple of weeks for the Magpies who have now been dumped out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup and are slipping down the Premier League table.

Things aren’t looking much rosier for Nottm Forest right now either. Popular manager Steve Cooper was sacked after a defeat to Tottenham, and the new era under Nuno Espírito Santo began with a heartbreaking loss against Bournemouth. The Cherries found a winner in injury time to condemn Forest to their seventh defeat in their last eight games. The Midlands club is now just two points above the relegation zone and badly need a win against a wounded Newcastle side.

Newcastle are one of the worst teams in the league playing away from home, but at St James’ Park, they have a near-perfect record this season. Newcastle have lost only a single game in front of their fans this season. Nottm Forest will have a tough job finding the win they so badly need here, but they will be comforted by the fact this Newcastle side look seriously fragile after a string of disappointing defeats. The Magpies could be clipped if Forest can score the first goal.

Here's how they line up:

Newcastle: Dubravka, Trippier, Botman, Schar, Burn, Miley, Guimaraes, Longstaff, Almiron, Isak, Gordon.

Nottm Forest: Turner, Aina, Niakhate, Murillo, Montiel, Danilo, Sangare, Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, Elanga, Wood.
