Keeping track of every upcoming Marvel movie and TV show coming to the MCU is a full-time job. Marvel has several movies and shows either in the books or in the works. 2025 alone is bringing three movies and five TV shows to the screen.

Lucky for you, it actually is my full-time job to keep track of everything coming from the MCU, so I've got you covered. Below we'll get into every movie and TV show coming from Marvel that currently has a tentative release date. We'll also cover a few movies and TV shows that have been in the works but have murkier futures.
One thing that won't get mentioned here is the Sony Spiderverse movie since ... well, they're mostly done. The next mainline "Spider-Man" gets a mention since it'll tie into the MCU canon. But the upcoming animated movies won't get a mention since they're separate from the greater MCU story.
So ready to dive into the multiverse? Here's every upcoming Marvel movie and TV show coming to the MCU.
Upcoming Marvel movie release dates
'Captain America: Brave New World' (February 14)
Release date: February 14
"Captain America: Brave New World" will be the feature-length debut of Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson as the new Captain America. And after seeing the first trailer, which dropped in July 2024, I'm excited for "Captain America: Brave New World." This gives off vibes of an espionage thriller a la "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," which is still probably the best Marvel movie to date. The latest official trailer only has me doubling down that this looks like a potentially great MCU movie.
This upcoming installment in the Captain America franchise brings back some familiar faces — and a blast from the past. Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly both reprise their roles from "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley, respectively. Tim Blake Nelson returns to the MCU as Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader, who you may remember from 2008's "The Incredible Hulk."
We get some new faces too. Shira Haas makes her MCU debut as the superhero Sabra and Giancarlo Esposito will appear as the villain Sidewinder, leader of the Serpent Society. I'll be honest, Sidewinder arriving in the MCU was not on my Marvel bingo card.
The biggest familiar face though, and I mean that literally, is Mark Ruffalo returning as the Hulk. At the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Ruffalo revealed that he will be returning to the MCU in this new Captain America film. That said, we have yet to see him in a trailer. Instead, we've see Harrison Ford as President Thunderbolt Ross turning into the Red Hulk, which has me admittedly nervous.
'Thunderbolts*' (May 2)
Release date: May 2
Calling this movie Marvel's version of DC's The Suicide Squad would be a bit reductive. But after watching the first "Thunderbolts*" teaser trailer and the subsequent D23 Brazil special look, the vibes are there. The Thunderbolts are basically the anti-Avengers — a group of antiheroes doing questionable missions for questionable government officials.
The cast is composed of a deep roster of all the MCU B-list characters from recent movies and TV shows. The Thunderbolts team is made up of Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. They're joined by Lewis Pullman as Bob — aka The Sentry.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus will also return as La Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine, though it's unclear if she's siding with the bad guys ... or the even worse guys. Harrison Ford is also expected to reprise as Thunderbolt Ross but it's unclear what implications this has on the latter's "Captain America: Brave New World" appearance. The trailers so far haven't given clues as to his whereabouts, but we're starting to suspect this movie takes place in the aftermath of the next Cap movie.
Despite the large ensemble cast, it does appear that "Thunderbolts*" is a story primarily about Pugh's Yelena Belova. In an interview with Empire, Director Jake Schreier said "She's [Yelena] front and center. Yelena is in a certain place at the beginning of the film, and how she finds her way out of that place, and who she finds herself out of that place with, is at the heart of the story."
'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' (July 25)
Release date: July 25
"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" will be our first step into a new universe in the MCU. I'm not just talking about the arrival of Marvel's First Family — though that's a big deal. No, I'm referring to the fact that this movie is set in a different universe than the mainline MCU story.
"First Steps," as many fans correctly guessed, is set in a New York City that is not our own. Instead, the Matt Shakman-directed film takes place in the 1960s in an alternate version of the American metropolis. Per Disney, the movie's official synopsis is "Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet."
As to who will play those intrepid heroes? Marvel announced the movie's cast will include Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. It will also star John Malkovich, Ralph Ineson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Natasha Lyonne.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel revealed that Galactus and Silver Surfer will both serve as villains — along with a potential Doctor Doom appearance. And in an Instagram post from star Pedro Pascal just before that, the movie's star showed that production is officially underway in London. "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is slated to come out in theaters on July 25, 2025, instead of its original May 2, 2025 release date, after swapping spots in the calendar with "Thunderbolts."
'Avengers: Doomsday' (May 2026)
Release date: May 1, 2026
"Avengers: Kang Dynasty" is gone — a mere footnote in the MCU. That's because Marvel revealed at SDCC that the fifth Avengers movie is now titled "Avengers: Doomsday," and will bring back Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU as the iconic villain Doctor Doom.
He's not the only Marvel legend returning to the Marvel fold either. The movie is now confirmed to be directed by the Russo Brothers, who famously gave the MCU it's greatest success in "Avengers: Endgame."
Because this movie is now being completely redone from the ground up, we know very little else about it, other than it will have a direct impact on the subsequent "Avengers: Secret Wars," which will also feature RDJ and the Russos. However, my money is on us seeing Downey Jr. as Doom first in "The Fantastic Four," likely in a mid-credits stinger.
It also seems like this return to the MCU for Downey was largely Kevin Feige's idea. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Downey said that when discussing a return to Marvel with his wife Susan and the Marvel chief, Fiege was the one to bring up Doctor Doom (h/t ScreenRant). "And he [Feige] brought up Victor Von Doom. I looked up this character and I was like, 'Wow.' Later, Kevin goes, 'Let’s get Victor Von Doom right. Let's get that right.'"
RDJ isn't reportedly the only returning actor to this blockbuster MCU movie either. As of December 2024, it's been tipped that Chris Evans will be returning to the MCU for "Avengers: Doomsday."

'Spider-Man 4' (July 2026)
Release date: July 24, 2026
We don't know much about "Spider-Man 4" — the working title is reportedly "Blue Oasis" (h/t The Cosmic Circus). But we do know when the webslinger will be back on the silver screen. As reported by Variety, "Spider-Man 4" is now slated to premiere in theaters on July 24, 2026.
Whatever draft the Marvel writers produce, it's possible we know the movie's director already. Variety's report confirmed what we've long suspected — Destin Daniel Cretton to direct the next "Spider-Man" movie. This would be his second MCU movie, as he previously directed "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings."
Avengers: Secret Wars (May 2027)
Release date: May 7, 2027
Marvel's "Avengers: Secret Wars" will bring an end to this era of the MCU. Not only, will this movie end Phase Six of the MCU but it is now more likely than ever that it will ultimately be used as a soft reset for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. The addition of Robert Downey, Jr. as Doctor Doom — potentially God Emperor Doom in this movie given the Marvel comics source material "Secret Wars" is pulling from — makes it so Marvel can completely reshape the entire MCU after this movie.
But just because "Secret Wars" could be a new beginning for Marvel doesn't mean that some old faces can't show up on screen. There are rumors that Tobey Maguire, Chris Evans, Nicolas Cage, Wesley Snipes, and Scarlett Johansson could all reprise in their old Marvel roles (h/t Comic Book Movie). Similar stunt casting was done by Marvel in "Deadpool & Wolverine," so don't rule this rumor out. It also seems that Henry Cavill could make an appearance as a Wolverine variant, though again, that's currently just a rumor. According to Marvel Updates on X (Twitter), it's also possible that Cavill could instead appear in the MCU as Captain Britain or both roles.
One cameo that does appear to be happening? Wonder Man. In a Q&A with The Cosmic Circus, Marvel insider Alex Perez said that the character played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is "apparently scheduled to show up in the next Avengers films."
'Blade' (TBD)
Release date: TBD
"Blade" has had a rough path to joining the MCU., and now its future looks in doubt. While the reveal of Mahershala Ali as the titular vampire hunter rocked Comic-Con 2019, things have not gone smoothly since. Now Disney has removed the movie from the release calendar entirely (h/t Variety), and it may never see the light of day.
Disney may be simply pushing "Blade" back a year. Disney CEO Bob Iger had previously indicated a 2025 Marvel movie would be pushed back regardless. But "Blade" isn't in production, has gone through two directors (it doesn't yet have a third) and five writers (it's now on its sixth). It's highly unlikely that this iteration of the movie gets made at this point, at least with Mahershala Ali still attached to star in it.
'Black Panther 3'
There's been almost no news about a possible "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" sequel. But when speaking to Today Show Australia, "Gladiator 2" star Denzel Washington revealed that "Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me [Denzel] in the next Black Panther." Marvel head Kevin Feige confirmed that the movie was in the works days later when announcing the departure of Marvel executive Nate Moore (h/t Deadline).

'What if...?' season 3 (Out now)
Streaming now on Disney Plus
"What if...?" season 3 is finally here and streaming in its entirety. This animated anthology series of only slightly connected stories has gotten a mixed reception since it debuted, but the concept of telling Marvel stories from across the multiverse we wouldn't otherwise get is an interesting one. This season, the stories include "What If... Agatha Went to Hollywood?" and "What If... the Red Guardian Stopped the Winter Soldier?" among many others.
Marvel head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum has described season 3 as "the completion of a trilogy." He has also said "I think [it] is an extremely moving and fulfilling culmination for Uatu the Watcher (Jeffrey Wright)." So yes, this is also the final season of "What if...?" So start watching now.
'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' (January 29)
Release date: January 29 on Disney Plus
Formerly known as "Spider-Man: Freshman Year," "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" is an animated show that, according to an interview with Marvel Studios's Winderbaum, takes place in an alternate timeline where Norman Osbourne was Peter Parker's mentor rather than Tony Stark. Norman Osbourne ... now why is that name familiar? Spoiler alert: We know why.
This animated Spider-Man show has a voice cast that includes Hudson Thames as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln, Grace Song as Nico Minoru, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius, Kari Wahlgren as May Parker, Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn and Paul F. Tompkins as Bentley Whittman. It will also reprise Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, who is also appearing on another Marvel show further down this list.
'Daredevil: Born Again' (March 4)
Release date: March 4 on Disney Plus
"Daredevil: Born Again" has had some bumps in the road to arriving on Disney Plus but we're now starting to enter the endgame. The show was shown off at SDCC and D23 and a lot was revealed, including a leaked trailer that has since been taken down. However, the trailer was shown again at New York Comic Con and we've seen it.
Here's what we know so far. First, "Daredevil: Born Again" won't erase Netflix’s Daredevil. That's because (spoiler alert) "Echo" made Netflix's versions of Daredevil and The Punisher officially MCU canon and this show picks up where "Echo" left off.
Speaking of The Punisher, Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher, in "Daredevil: Born Again." He'll be joined by Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin), Wilson Bethel (Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) and Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Fisk). The trailer also showed off first looks at the crime fighting White Tiger and the serial killer villain Muse.
Marvel's official release date for "Daredevil Born Again" is March 4, 2025. The date was revealed at NYCC 2024.
'Ironheart' (June 24)
Release date: June 24 on Disney Plus
Ever since debuting in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," an Ironheart spin-off for Disney Plus has been in the works. It will star Dominique Thorne, reprising her role as Riri Williams — aka the titular Ironheart. Thorne has said we can set our expectations high in an interview with Deadline, saying "Get ready… it’ll be a ride."
Some fans have finally gotten to ride the ride that is "Ironheart." At D23 2024, executive producer Ryan Coogler, Thorne and others showed off a first look at the upcoming series (h/t Deadline). The show picks up after the events of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," with Williams now working with The Hood (Anthony Ramos) after being kicked out of MIT.
There are rumors that The Hood will actually turn into the MCU's first iteration of Ghost Rider. This would mirror a storyline in the current run of Marvel comics.
Aside from Thorne an Ramos, "Ironheart" stars Anji White, Manny Montana, Shakira Barrera, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Paul Calderón and Cree Summer. It is also highly likely that Sacha Baron Cohen will make his MCU as the villain Mephisto, increasing the likelihood of a Ghost Rider tie-in.
'Eyes of Wakanda' (August 6)
Release date: August 6 on Disney Plus
“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story.”
That's the official description for "Eyes of Wakanda" according to Marvel (h/t Variety). This animated series was announced in late 2023 and is now officially slated for August 6, 2025. it will be part of the MCU's Phase Five and produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler's company Proximity Media.
'Marvel Zombies' (October 3)
Release date: October 3 on Disney Plus
This show about the undead is still very much alive. A first look at the four-part miniseries was shown off to fans at D23 (h/t Collider) and showed off the heroes of "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" fighting off a zombie hoard. In a subsequent sizzle reel shown to the public, it also sounds like we get a version of Red Guardian (David Harbour in the MCU movies).
But Shang-Chi isn't the only hero to expect in "Marvel Zombies." You can also — reportedly — expect Ms. Marvel. In an interview with The Direct, "Ms. Marvel" star Iman Vellani said she's been recording lines for Marvel Zombies and that her character is the center of the show. "Knowing Kamala [Ms. Marvel] is going to interact with some really cool people, even if it's just animation, is so special in a lot of ways."
A rumor from Marvel tipster CanWeGetToast (h/t Comic Book Movie) also says a new Fist of Khonshu will appear in "Marvel Zombies." Still, don't take this as confirmation that Oscar Isaac won't return to the MCU one day. There are many reasons Marvel could go in a different direction for this animated series, which is still tipped to debut later this year.
'Wonder Man' (Dec. 2025)
Release date: December 2025 on Disney Plus
Marvel's "Wonder Man" is set to star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, HBO's Watchmen) as Simon Williams, whose run in the comics saw him first as a villain before he became a hero. He's worked for Baron Zemo (the father of the Zemo in the MCU), and he's also been an Avenger, so there are plenty of ways to tie Wonder Man into the MCU. The show is also confirmed to bring back Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery.
On January 12, 2024, fans spotted Marvel filming the show's first season in Los Angeles (h/t Collider). It's tipped to be rebranded as a Spotlight series, and we've seen a rumor from Marvel Fans Forever on Facebook that filming has been completed. After Marvel's latest sizzle reel, we now know the series will debut in December 2025 on Disney Plus.
'Vision Quest' (TBD 2026)
Release date: TBD 2026 on Disney Plus
Variety initially reported on an untitled Vision for an untitled Vision Disney Plus TV show slated for 2026. But since then, Deadline has revealed some additional details about the show, now titled "Vision Quest."
Obviously, the show will bring back Paul Bettany as Vision, but he's not the only returning MCU character confirmed to return in this show. James Spader is confirmed to return as Ultron and may bring a physical appearance to the small screen in addition to providing the voice of the evil killing machine. The reporting from Deadline also indicates that Elizabeth Olsen may return as Wanda Maximoff, though that is far from guaranteed.

Marvel movies and TV shows without release dates
'Armor Wars'
Originally, Armor Wars was set to be a Disney Plus series bringing back Don Cheadle as James "Rhodey" Rhodes, aka War Machine. That's been scrapped and the new idea is to do it as a movie, though still with Don Cheadle.
And it's now been reported that Sam Rockwell will return to the MCU in Armor Wars, reprising his role as Justin Hammer from Iron Man 2. Shooting would reportedly start in 2025 with a 2026 or 2027 release date. This is all currently based on rumor though, so take it with a grain of salt.
Especially since we're seeing conflicting rumors that "Armor Wars" is potentially set to be scrapped. Marvel tipster Daniel Richtman suggests that the MCU show is on the chopping block, with an official determination coming by the end of the year (h/t The Direct). It remains to be seen which rumors — if any — pan out.
'Nova'
Kevin Feige has confirmed that a Nova show is in the works. When interviewed by ComicBook about the rumored project, Feige said "It's [a Nova show] three or four years out." Marvel insider DanielRPK says that currently, the series won't start filing until late 2025 at the earliest.
Unfortunately, we've got nothing beyond that, and there's still no guarantee this ultimately gets made. In an interview with Phaze Zero, Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum said, "Nova is in development right now, but we are developing more than we make" and "We aren't going to go on a show until we're happy with the pilot, happy with the bible."
'Excalibur'
According to Marvel insider MTTSH, an "Excalibur" series is reportedly in development at Marvel Studios (h/t Comic Book Movie). This may be where we see Henry Cavill as Captain Britain, though that's just pure speculation based on the "Excalibur" comics.
'Hawkeye' season 2
We've now seen a report that "Hawkeye" is getting a second season. Marvel insider DanielRPK says that a second season for the series has been ordered, but won't start filing until fall 2025 with an eye on a fall 2026 release date at the earliest.
'Champion'
There used to be rumors abound that Marvel was working towards a Young Avengers movie. But now, it seems that they've pivoted to a TV show titled "Champion."
According to Marvel insider DanielRPK, "While production won’t start for a while, they’ve already begun searching for a showrunner. The reasons for the change include 'The Marvels' underperforming at the box office and the decision to remove "Young" from the title due to some of the cast members aging out of the "young" label."

Here's everything else that could be coming to the MCU, but doesn't have a project title. Once these shows and movies are more set in stone, we'll adjust accordingly.
