The Book of Boba Fett release date, trailer, cast and everything we know
We've opened The Book of Boba Fett ...
The Book of Boba Fett continues The Mandalorian saga on Disney Plus. The infamous bounty hunter who seemingly died in Return of the Jedi not only survived, but helped rescue Baby Yoda and has now returned to Tatooine to stake a claim to a criminal empire. So far, though, fan reaction to The Book of Boba Fett is mixed, with some vocal folks pretty disappointed, especially with how other characters have taken over the show.
Boba Fett is attempting to take over the territory once held by Jabba the Hutt. At his side is mercenary assassin Fennec Shand. Together, they hope to rule Mos Espa and make a name for themselves in the Outer Rim's underworld. One interesting little note, though, a small error made it to air as a Book of Boba Fett mistake was caught by a TikTok user.
The Book of Boba Fett is the latest of the Disney Plus Star Wars shows. More are coming soon, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: Ahsoka, Star Wars: Andor, and The Mandalorian season 3.

The Book of Boba Fett release date
The Book of Boba Fett release date was December 29, 2021. Episode 1 debuted on that date and subsequent episodes drop weekly on Wednesdays.
Season 1 consists of seven episodes.
The Book of Boba Fett cast
The Book of Boba Fett cast is headlined by Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett. Morrison made his Star Wars debut in 2002's Episode II - Attack of the Clones, as Jango Fett, Boba's dear ol' dad. And since Jango was the template for the Clone Troopers, nobody's batting an eye that his son bears such an identical likeness (then again, few have probably seen both unmasked).

Ming-Na Wen is Fennec Shand, Fett's right hand. The actress is more than familiar with the world of nerdy TV properties, having recently played Agent May in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Other cast members are:
- Matt Berry as the voice of 8D8, a droid in Fett's service
- David Pasquesi as the Twi'lek majordomo the mayor of Mos Espa
- Jennifer Beals as Garsa Fwip, the Twi'lek owner of the Sanctuary cantina
- Carey Jones as Krrsantan, a Wookiee bounty hunter and former gladiator
- Stephen Root as Lortha Peel, a water-monger
- Sophie Thatcher as Drash, a cyborg gang member who works for Fett
- Jordan Bolger as Skad, a cyborg gang member
- Danny Trejo as the trainer of Fett's rancor
- Stephen "Thundercat" Bruner as a mod artist in Mos Eisley
Per Cinelinx, multiple independent sources are claiming that Din Djarin (aka Mando himself) will make an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett. This makes a lot of sense, as Disney framed The Book of Boba Fett as "the next chapter" in the Mandalorian story.
The Book of Boba Fett trailer
The Book of Boba Fett trailer has a really cool vibe. Fett looks to be a better crime boss, but the rest of the underworld around him seems to not want him at the throne.

The Book of Boba Fett season 2 speculation
Book of Boba Fett wrap gifts (given out to cast and crew upon completion of a project) shared by Ming-Na Wen give people reason to believe this won't be the only set of episodes we get for the season.
Note that the card reads "The Book of Boba Fett S.1" where the 'S.1' stands for season 1, suggesting a second season is possibly happening.
