Southampton have been struggling of late. They haven't notched a win since November 5 and last week turned in a dismal performance against Arsenal. The Saints have talented players, but boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has been contending with a lineup riddled with injuries. Goalkeepers Alex McCarthy and Fraser Foster are both likely to be sidelined again here, so short-termer Willy Caballero will once again guard the net.
Che Adams will also miss the match at Selhurst Park, as will Adam Armstrong, although Armando Broja has recovered from a knock and will start.
Meanwhile, Palace are riding high after thumping Everton 3-1 and ending a three-loss streak. Conor Gallagher has been a star in the midfield and scored two of the goals in the last fixture. Patrick Vieira has a mostly healthy team on his hands, though he will be happier when Joachim Andersen and James McArthur are cleared to return.
The question is whether the Eagles can capitalize on their recent win and extend it in this midweek match and over the weekend. While they will face a depleted Southampton squad, Palace will need to shore up their defense if they want to walk away with three points.
Here's how they line up:
Crystal Palace: Butland, Ward, Guehi, Tomkins, Mitchell, Kouyate, Hughes, Gallagher, Zaha, Ayew, Edouard.
