Graham Potter has not won over all sections of the Chelsea support since his appointment in September and with the side in 9th place, ambitions of a Champions League finish seem unlikely. A 1-1 draw with relegation strugglers Nottm Forest last time out was not good enough and the manager will have made that clear to the players. Raheem Sterling’s goal was the only bright spark in a lackluster performance and with the January transfer window now open, it will be interesting to see if Potter decides to bring in some of his own players. Injuries have not been kind to Chelsea this season, particularly in defensive positions, with Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, and Reece James suffering multiple knocks. Chilwell and Fofana could return for this fixture but James will miss the whole of January. Of course, Potter was a manager appointed to oversee a long-term project, and it’s important to give him time to implement his ideas on the squad.

For a team like Man City, anything except winning the title is a disappointment and they are now eight points off leaders Arsenal. Like Chelsea, Man City travel to Stamford Bridge after a 1-1 draw with a team in the relegation battle. Erling Haaland continued his remarkable run of scoring against Everton, but Pep Guardiola’s side couldn’t see the job through. Key defenders Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias are both struggling for fitness and may not make the trip to London, but forward Julian Alvarez, fresh from winning the World Cup, could feature. Last season City beat Chelsea home and away and they will be keen to repeat that record.

The Chelsea vs Man City livestream will see two of the most expensively assembled squads in the Premier League face off and with both having recent wobbles it could go either way. It will be well worth tuning in, and we'll show you how to watch below.
