Presidents' Day is the next blockbuster mattress sales event and this year it takes place on Monday 17 February. It's a great time to buy a top-rated bed for less and we expect to see discounts on all of 2025's best mattresses with options for a wide range of sleepers and budgets.

Our team has been tracking the Presidents' Day mattress sales for years and we expect the official deals to start arriving towards the end of January. So you don't have long to wait to get a good discount on a comfy new mattress. Some retailers like MattressFirm and Amazon have already started rolling out deals, and we've listed our best picks here.

We'll be updating this guide regularly with the best Presidents' Day sales as they arrive, but if you can't wait and need to buy a mattress now, we've also included below our top picks from this month's mattress sales. There are some good deals on hybrid and memory foam mattresses today, with prices from $199.

Today's best mattress sales

We don't expect to see any official Presidents' Day mattress sales until late January or early February, but even so there are some great sales live today. Even though these are deals we see most months they're great value for money and worth considering if you need to buy a new mattress now.

  1. Saatva: $300 off orders worth $1,000+
  2. DreamCloud: Up to 50% off mattresses
  3. Nectar: Up to 66% off bundles
  4. Helix: 20% off + free pillows
  5. Bear: 35% off + free pillows

Should you wait for a Presidents' Day mattress deal?

Whether or not to wait for Presidents' Day sales to buy a mattress depends on how urgently you need one. If you need one ASAP, we recommend shopping one of the deals feature above as these are excellent value and unlikely to get much cheaper come actual Presidents' Day. These include DreamCloud, Nectar, Bear Mattress, and Siena Sleep.

However if you're shopping for a luxury mattress from Saatva, Purple, Casper or Helix, we recommend waiting for Presidents' Day. That's because these brands tend to save their biggest discounts (or money off plus free gifts) for major holiday sales. So waiting a few more weeks could save you a bigger chunk of money.

What mattresses should I look for?

This depends on the type of mattress you want to buy and your budget. We expect sales on most of our top recommended options, and these are the ones we recommend considering in this year's Presidents' Day sales:

Saatva Classic Mattress (queen): $2,099now $1,799 at SaatvaOur review: ★★★★★User score: ★★★★★
Top pick

Saatva Classic Mattress (queen): $2,099 now $1,799 at Saatva
Our review: ★★★★
User score:
★★★★★ (3,600+ reviews)
The Saatva Classic is the best mattress we've tested for most sleepers. It scored a 5/5 in our Saatva Classic mattress review with our reviewers praising it for pressure relief (less aches and pains while sleeping) and lower back support. The Classic also looks like a luxury hotel mattress and the handcrafted build quality is very good. It won't support weights over 600lbs (heavy couples could look at the DreamCloud below instead), but otherwise this is an excellent hybrid mattress that suits all sleep positions. A queen is on sale for $1,799 (was $2,099) but we predict it will drop to $1,699 once Saatva's 2025 President sale starts, which matches the price we saw in all holiday sales last year.

DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid Mattress (queen): $665 at DreamCloud SleepOur review: ★★★★½User score: ★★★★½

DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid Mattress (queen): $665 at DreamCloud Sleep
Our review: ★★★★½
User score:
★★★★½ (9,000+ reviews)
If you like the Saatva but have a smaller budget, or you and your partner weigh over 600lbs combined, then the DreamCloud is a good alternative. It doesn't compare to the Saatva in terms of overall build quality, performance, or level of organic and natural materials, but considering it costs $665 for a queen versus $1,799 for a Saatva, the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid is great value. Our DreamCloud mattress review team found it especially comfy for stomach and back sleeping, but lightweight side sleepers should consider the Zinus below instead. We also doubt the DreamCloud will get any cheaper for Presidents’ Day (whereas we predict the Saatva will cost $100 less), so you’re safe to buy now.

Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress (queen):$219$198 at AmazonOur review: ★★★½User score: ★★★★½

Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress (queen): $219 $198 at Amazon
Our review: ★★★½
User score:
★★★★½ (77,000+ reviews)
The Zinus is an all-foam mattress compared to the hybrids above and we recommend it to lightweight (140lbs or less) side sleepers, and to people who prefer a body-hug feel from their mattress. This isn't the best memory foam mattress we've tested (that's the Nectar Classic priced $649 for a queen at Nectar) however it performs well for the cheap price – it relieves pressure along the hips, shoulders and knees, and is a comfy option for side and back sleeping. The lead tester for our Zinus Green Tea Mattress review also reported that it has good motion isolation (so less disturbed sleep for couples), but it does retain heat (hot sleepers, consider the Nectar Classic instead). Right now it's discounted to $198 (was $219) for a queen, which is a good price anyway, but based on other holiday sales we think it will drop a little further (by $10-20) for Presidents' Day 2025.

Presidents' Day mattress sales 2025: the top 3 early deals

Certain mattress retailers have already started rolling out their Presidents' Day mattress sales in preparation for the late February holiday. Here are the best deals we've found so far.

1. Serta Perfect Sleeper Cobalt Coast Firm mattress:$999.99now from $399.77 at MattressFirm

1. Serta Perfect Sleeper Cobalt Coast Firm mattress: $999.99 now from $399.77 at MattressFirm
If you're looking for a firm mattress that you can sink into, this Serta mattress could be the one for you. The top layer features PillowSoft Plush Foam on top of a layer of PillowSoft Aire Medium Comfort Foam. The mattress has HexCloud Gel Memory Foam, which is said to be great for relieving pressure on the back and shoulders. It's also made with CoolFeel Fabric, keeping the sleeper cool. Underneath the foam are wrapped coils, adding support. Right now, this mattress is 60% off at MattressFirm. A queen-size Serta Perfect Sleeper Cobalt Coast is $599.77 (was $1,199.99) and it comes with a 120-night sleep trial.

2. Beautyrest Greenwood Firm mattress: $849.99now from $339.99

2. Beautyrest Greenwood Firm mattress: $849.99 now from $339.99
Looking for a premium firm mattress that won't break the bank? This deal from MattressFirm is a great option, bringing a queen-size Beautyrest Greenwood firm mattress down to just $399.99 (was $999.99). This mattress features 800 density pocketed coil innerspring technology along with foam layers to provide hybrid comfort. We haven't tested this mattress, but it boasts great motion isolation and cooling technology that draws heat away from the body. If you need a mattress that will help your spinal alignment, this is a great affordable option.

3. Ashley Signature Design Queen mattress:$411.68now from $265 at Amazon

3. Ashley Signature Design Queen mattress: $411.68 now from $265 at Amazon
Amazon has kicked off its Presidents' Day mattress sale with 36% off this medium-firm mattress from Ashley. This 10" hybrid mattress features gel memory foam and 360 individually wrapped coils for lumar support. It's a medium-firm mattress and is best for those looking for increased support when sleeping on their back and stomach. The reduction is only available in queen-size with a saving off $146.68. While it's unlikely to offer the same level of support as high-end firm mattresses like the Plank Firm, it's a great affordable option available now.

President’s Day mattress sales 2025: Our predictions

We've been tracking the Presidents' Day mattress deals for years. These are our predictions for 2025's sale based on what we've seen during previous years...

1. Early sales will start arriving late January

Throughout last year, deals for major mattress sales starting appearing up to a few weeks before the actual sale was supposed to launch (or in the case of Black Friday, a month before). As Presidents' Day isn't as well known as Black Friday, we think the earliest sales will start appearing the week commencing January 27 and into early February.

2. Most sales prices will match Black Friday

Gone are the days of deep discounts being limited to Black Friday. Many major brands like Saatva and Helix will roll out the same sales for every major sales period, meaning that if you missed out on a Black Friday sale, you could find the very same offers available this February.

3. Saatva's $400 off sale will return

Saatva is behind our best hybrid mattress of the year and currently you can save $300 on any of the brand's handmade mattresses when you spend $1,000 or more in the Saatva mattress sale.

Right now Saatva prices are at their highest but we predict that those MSRPs will drop and the discount will increase to $400, making Presidents' Day a good time to buy. This is the same approach Saatva used during all major holiday sales last year, and we expect a queen size Saatva Classic, our top pick, to drop to $1,695 for a queen (right now it's on sale for $1,799).

4. DreamCloud and Nectar sales won't change

Resident Home brands Nectar and DreamCloud are behind two of the best mattresses in a box we have tested: the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid and the Nectar Classic Memory Foam Mattress. Both have been running an up to 50% off sale for over a year and right now you can save up to 66% on mattress and bed bundles too.

During Black Friday last year you could have saved an extra $100 on Nectar and DreamCloud orders worth $1,000 or more, but we doubt that discount will return for Presidents' Day 2025. So today's Nectar mattress deals and DreamCloud mattress sales contain the cheapest prices we're likely to see.

5. Helix will offer 35% off plus free bedding

Helix Sleep is another major online brand that offers frequent discounts. It's currently offering 20% off plus you'll get free pillows. We predict this discount will rise to 35% plus free pillows or even a bedding set for this year's Presidents' Day mattress sales, which is in line with what Helix did during every other major holiday sale last year.

Last year's best Presidents' Day mattress deals

The best way to get a sense of what the best Presidents' Day mattress sales might be this year is to look at last year's best deals...

1. Saatva Classic Mattress:$1,295$895 at Saatva

1. Saatva Classic Mattress: $1,295 $895 at Saatva
The Saatva Classic is an innerspring hybrid mattress that delivers serious luxury hotel vibes for the home. We rate it as the best hybrid mattress for most sleepers. Last year it was $400 in the Presidents' Day sales with a queen reduced to $1,699. We expect to see this price again for this year's sale.

2. Emma Hybrid Comfort: $839 $419 at Emma
The 13" Emma Hybrid Comfort uses cooling technology to dissipate excess body heat during sleep, so you don't overheat in bed. It's also ideal for back and stomach sleepers as it will keep you on top of the mattress to prevent your spine dipping. A twin Emma Hybrid Comfort was on sale for $409 (was $812) in last year's Presidents' Day sale with a queen discounted to $659 (was $1,319).

3. Sleep Number i8:$3,339$2,799 at Sleep Number

3. Sleep Number i8: $3,339 $2,799 at Sleep Number
Last year's Sleep Number Presidents' Day mattress sale was enormous at up to 50% off, making it the best time to buy the Sleep Number i8 smart bed, which holds a spot on our list of the best smart mattresses. The i8 with sleep tracking, automatic pressure relief and adjustable firmness was on sale for $2,379 (was $3,339) for a twin and $2,799 (was $3,999) for a queen size.

4. Helix Midnight Mattress: $936 $702 at Helix Sleep
As part of its Presidents Day mattress sale, last year Helix offered 25% off sitewide if you entered the discount code PDS25 at checkout. This toxin-free hybrid is made with over 900 pocketed coils plus organic latex to offer gentle contouring and excellent temperature control. In last year's Presidents' Day sale a queen size was reduced to $1,169 – over $130 cheaper than it's usual sale price.

Presidents' Day mattress sales FAQ

When do Presidents' Day mattress sales 2025 start?

Presidents' Day takes place on Monday 17 February 2025 but we expect official deals to start arriving towards the end of January and into early February. A lot of discounts will be sales we see most months simply dressed up as Presidents' Day offers, but a small handful will be genuinely cheaper compared to the average month. We'll be flagging those up in an 'editor's choice' section at the top of this guide.

Do stores run Presidents' Day mattress sales?

Major mattress stores always run Presidents' Day sales, and some of them can be as good as the mattress deals we see online. However, unlike online shopping, you'll need to physically travel to a brick-and-mortar store to see what discounts they're offering.

If you prefer in-store shopping, we encourage you to ask the sales staff the following questions to make sure you are getting a good deal and fair purchasing terms:

  • What is the MSRP of this mattress?
  • What is the lowest price you have sold it for recently?
  • What trial period does it come with?
  • What is the warranty period?
  • What is your refund and exchange policy?
  • Do you offer free shipping?
  • Do you offer old mattress removal either for free or at a cost?
  • How long does this Presidents' Day mattress deal last for?

Are Presidents' Day sales a good time to buy a mattress?

Presidents' Day is the first major retail holiday of the year. So if you're in the market for a new mattress, sheets, or bedding, Presidents Day mattress sales are where you'll find the deals.

That said, there are other times throughout the year where we see particularly strong mattress discounts. Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day are also excellent opportunities to purchase a new mattress.
