The holders came into this tournament with high hopes of regaining their trophy, but have looked way off the pace here. They've won just once — against Bangladesh — and have suffered big defeats against England and South Africa. There's barely been a sight of the form that took them to the title three years ago.

Australia, on the other hand, have largely performed well. An opening, and hard-fought, victory over South Africa was followed by comfortable wins over Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. But sandwiched between them was a crushing defeat by England, and they'd dearly love to get their own back in the final.

To do that, they'll need to reach the semis first. However, they'll go into this game with some uncertainty about how likely that is. A win here won't guarantee them a place in the final four, because South Africa could still leap above them on net run-rate if they beat England. And nor will a loss knock them out, if South Africa also lose.

But the players won't be thinking too much about that; they'll just want to rack up a big victory and give themselves the best possible chance of going through. With that in mind, expect an unchanged team, with David Warner and Aaron Finch opening, followed by Mitchell Marsh and then a strong middle order of Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell.

The Windies are playing for pride only, but that could be reason enough for a few of them to step up their game. Chris Gayle, for instance, has barely featured in the tournament highlights and would love to finish with a big innings. If he does so, Australia could be in trouble.

Australia have won the toss in that game and will bowl. Here's how they line up:

Australia: 1 David Warner, 2 Aaron Finch (c), 3 Mitchell Marsh, 4 Steve Smith, 5 Glenn Maxwell, 6 Marcus Stoinis, 7 Matthew Wade (wk), 8 Pat Cummins, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Josh Hazlewood, 11 Adam Zampa

West Indies: 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Evin Lewis, 3 Nicholas Pooran (wk), 4 Roston Chase, 5 Shimron Hetmyer, 6 Andre Russell, 7 Kieron Pollard (c), 8 Jason Holder, 9 Dwayne Bravo, 10 Akeal Hosein, 11 Hayden Walsh Jr
