The 2021 U.S. Open is underway, and while the men's favorites will met in the finals, the women's side of the bracket is ending in a big surprise of a matchup. Since August 30, and going to tomorrow (September 12), the world's top players will continie play under the bright lights of Arthur Ashe Stadium and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City.

But even though the men's draw was missing several big stars, as both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are out with injuries (defending champ Dominic Thiem is also absent due to a wrist injury), we're not without a huge storyline.
No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic isn't just out to pass Nadal and Federer for the most Grand Slam titles in history. His 21st major would finish his calendar year Grand Slam, which no man has done since Rod Laver.
After beating Kei Nishikori, dispatching Matteo Berrettini, and taking all five sets to knock out Alexander Zverev in an Olympic-sized rematch, Djokovic's made it to the finals. Over on the women's side of the US Open, the tournament concluded on Sunday with Emma Raducanu defeating Leylah Annie Fernandez. She won in straight sets (6-4, 6-3), and praised the field after her victory.

2021 US Open draw
The men's draw of the 2021 U.S. Open is headlined by No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who could meet No. 4 Alexander Zverev in the semis. On the bottom half of the draw, No. 2 Daniil Medvedev and No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas are set up to clash.
The women's draw is led by No. 1 Ashleigh Barty, who may tangle with No. 4 Karolína Plíšková. On the other side, No. 2 Elina Svitolina could face off against No. 3 Naomi Osaka.
