I've been sleeping on this Tempur-Pedic pillow and the instant pressure relief is like getting a neck massage
The curved Tempur-Neck pillow is designed to enhance support for your head and neck — here’s my initial impression

Fill: Tempur-material
Best for: Side and back sleepers
Firmness: Firm
Warranty: 5 years
MSRP: from $119 at Tempur-Pedic
While most pillows stick to your basic rectangle, the Tempur-Pedic Tempur Neck pillow stands out thanks to its unusual curved design, aimed at providing enhanced support for the head and neck. I’ve been sleeping on it for over a week and found it largely delivers on that front.
All the best pillows we've reviewed promise comfort for your head, neck and shoulders, but the Tempur-Neck pillow is for side and back sleepers who need extra support. Made from the brand's signature pressure relieving Tempur-Material, the contoured pillow follows the natural curve of your body to keep the head and neck aligned.
Let’s take a closer look at my initial impression of the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Neck pillow to see how this design differs from others in the market. And whether that's a good thing...
Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Neck Pillow: Price & Trial
- One of the most popular Tempur-Pedic pillows
- Bundle savings run all year round
- Includes a five-year warranty but no sleep trial
Tempur-Pedic might be best known for its mattresses, but this brand has a pillows for every sleeper — even those looking to target a specific concern
The Tempur-Neck is one of Tempur-Pedic's bestselling pillows (second only to the popular Tempur-Cloud) with prices starting at $119 for a small. This places it right in the middle of the Tempur-Pedic pillow price range.
You can usually spot a bundle deal on the Tempur-Neck, offering you a saving up to 30% when you buy two pillows. Want a better deal? We recommend waiting for the Tempur-Pedic mattress sales during major events like Black Friday, Memorial Day or Presidents' Day, when the saving tends to improve. We've previously seen a mega 'buy one, get one free' offer.
The Tempur-Neck pillow comes with a five-year warranty but no sleep trial. I don't think this factor should put you off, as these benefits aren't unusual for a pillow. And Tempur-Pedic isn't known for its benefits overall (in our Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Adapt mattress review, the short sleep trial was a downside.)
Tempur-Pedic pillows are also sold on popular third-party sites like the Amazon Tempur-Pedic store (although right now, this model of the Tempur-Neck doesn't appear to be available.) Here, you'll usually find the same discount as shopping direct from Tempur-Pedic, but we have sometimes noticed big savings at Amazon.
Tempur-Pedic Tempur Neck Pillow: small from $119 at Tempur-Pedic
The Tempur-Neck is available in three sizes: small, medium and large. The MSRP of a small pillow is $119 while a medium is $129. You can save up to 30% when buying the Tempur-Neck as part of a bundle savings offer. Benefits include free shipping and a 5-year warranty.
Unboxing my Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Neck Pillow
- No expansion time, arrives in full-size
- Neatly wrapped in plastic
- No fluffing required
The Tempur-Pedic Tempur Neck came in a simple no-fuss package. Covered in a single plastic layer within a cardboard box, the pillow arrived full size and ready to sleep on immediately. You don't have to wait around for it expand and there's zero off-gassing.
The unique shape of the Tempur-Neck was well-preserved throughout shipping and delivery. With the pillow ready to go, it was just a matter of lying down and testing it.
My first week of sleeping on the Tempur Neck Pillow
Night 1: Instant pressure relief yet firm
I wasn't sure about what to expect from the Tempur-Neck because of its ergonomic curved design and apparent firmness (as stated in the official website.)
But any worries almost completely faded with the first impression. The Tempur-Neck provided instant pressure relief to my neck and shoulders — like the feeling of getting a neck massage when you visit the spa.
It is on the firmer side which means that your neck is well supported all throughout the night, even if you're prone to toss and turn in your sleep (like I am.)
The Tempur-Neck is designed for side sleepers, and being one myself, I found it bridged the gap between my ears and shoulders well. There was little chance of twisting and straining my neck muscles when changing positions.
After a week
After consistently sleeping on the Tempur-Neck for over a week, I've found it provides the right support for my neck and shoulders — something I hadn't experienced before with regular pillows.
This is due to the curved design which cushions the neck in all the right places, to deliver comfortable sleep all night long. It's great for those who sleep on their side or back, but it's not stomach-sleeper friendly.
There is no shifting or fluffing required, as the Tempur-Materials maintain firmness and shape, with no sagging where you place your head.
However, one disadvantage I've found is that I sometimes have to bring it closer to my neck, as it tends to slid backwards during the night (a problem that could be solved by sizing down.)
While the knit cover did not make me wake up due to night sweats or overheating, hot sleepers may need to upgrade by adding Tempur's cooling technology. Or opt for a dedicated cooling pillow, like the Coop Home Goods Cool+ pillow.
Tempur-Pedic Tempur Neck: My early thoughts
After over a week of testing the Tempur-Neck, I can say that it's great for side and back sleeping. It's an ideal choice for those who struggle with neck pain, as the ergonomic shape follows the natural curve of the neck to provide pressure relieving comfort and firm support.
I need more time to assess the Tempur-Neck before writing a full review, but having heard so much about Tempur-Pedic pillows and their impact on your sleep, my first experience with the Tempur-Neck proved to be comfortable enough for a good night's rest.
