Casper Hybrid with Snow Technology vs Coop Cool+: Price and deals

  • The Casper Hybrid and Coop Cool+ are priced similarly
  • Casper currently has a 10% off sale on their official website
  • The Coop Cool+ comes with excellent benefits

The Casper Hybrid and Coop Cool+ both use premium materials and cooling technology, which means they aren't cheap pillows.

The Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology has an MSRP of $149 for a standard size and $179 for a king. Caspar currently has a 10% off sale on these pillows at Caspar (which is a discount you'll also typically find during major holidays like the upcoming Memorial Day mattress sales), bringing the price of a standard pillow down to $134.10 and a king to $161.10.

The Casper Hybrid is also available to buy as a double pack, and during sale periods you can generally find 20% off. This means two standard pillows will be $286.40 (was $358). Extra benefits include a 30-night trial period, one-year warranty and free shipping and returns.

The Coop Cool+, meanwhile, has a slightly cheaper MSRP; $145 for a classic queen and $159 for a classic king. The pillow is available in three shapes: classic, crescent and cut-out, though the crescent and cut-out are both more expensive.

We have seen the Coop Cool+ reduced by as much as 25% off during major sale periods, such as Black Friday. Were Coop to offer the same discount in the future, a classic queen would drop in price to $108.75. However, at the time of writing the Coop Cool+ is not on sale.

When it comes to benefits, Coop definitely has the upper hand. They offer a 100-night sleep trial, free shipping and a generous 5-year warranty.

Casper Hybrid with Snow Technology vs Coop Cool+: Design and materials

  • The Coop Cool+ comes with adjustable foam and fiber fill
  • Casper does not include any customizable features
  • Both come with a cool-touch cover and additional tech to transfer heat

Both the Casper Hybrid and Coop Cool+ utilize a blend of memory foam and fiber, but in different ways.

The Casper Hybrid's Snow Technology includes a CoolTouch cover, HeatDelete bands within the pillow designed to draw heat away from your neck and head, and phase change material (PCM) which absorbs and dissipates heat, for what the brand claim is 12 hours of cooling.

The Casper Hybrid also has layers of foam encasing a core of fiber fill (for comfort and support that's ideal for side sleepers). We also found that we didn't have to regularly fluff up the Casper Hybrid as it naturally maintains its shape.

While the Coop Cool+ is also crafted from a similar combination of foam and fiber, the build is quite different.

Its fill is made from blend of cooling gel infused GREENGUARD Gold and CERTI-PUR US certified plus shaped memory foam pieces and microfiber. You can add (or remove) the foam and fiber blend utilizing the extra bag of fill, enabling you to customize the firmness and loft of the pillow to suit you.

The Coop Cool+ has a cooling cover, with a Q-max score (a measure of how cool a material feels, with 0.5 being the maximum rating) of 0.48 and is dual-sided, with one firmer side featuring gel memory foam designed to transfer heat away, and one offering a plush down-like comfiness.

While both feature impressive cooling tech, the Cool+ does have the advantage of its adjustable design, which can be customized to suit any sleeping style.

Casper Hybrid with Snow Technology vs Coop Cool+: Comfort and support

  • The Casper Hybrid offers a soft and supportive feel ideal for side and combination sleepers
  • Coop Cool+ suit any and all sleeping styles and body types
  • Cool+ requires regular fluffing to maintain its shape and support

When testing the Casper Hybrid and Coop Cool+ our reviewers were impressed by the comfort and support both pillows offered. However, the Casper Hybrid earned a full score of 5 out of 5 stars, making it the best pillow overall in our guide.

In the reviewer's own words, the Casper Hybrid proved to be an "incredibly supportive, soft but not too soft," pillow that "offers just the right level of support to keep the head and neck in alignment," translating to 5 out of 5 for firmness and support (you can read the full review on the Casper Hybrid with Snow Technology pillow review for more details).

As a combination sleeper, she found it comfortable in all positions, and noted that she didn't experience any pain or aches while sleeping on it. However, she felt it was best suited to side and combination sleepers overall.

The Coop Cool+ fell behind by one point (4 out of 5). While it was largely supportive, comfortable and can be customized to suit any sleeping position, our reviewer found that there was a sensation of sinking into the pillow, both when she used it without changing the fill and when she removed some to create a lower loft for stomach sleeping.

However, she noted that flipping the pillow to the firmer side or adding fill were options for remedying this issue.

Unlike the Casper Hybrid, the Cool+ also tended to flatten overnight when we trialled it, needing regular fluffing to maintain its shape and support.

Casper Hybrid with Snow Technology vs Coop Cool+: Temperature regulation

  • The Casper Hybrid earned a 5.5 out of 5 for exceptional cooling
  • Our reviewer noted that the Caspar Hybrid kept her "perfectly cool"
  • The Coop Cool+ was not cool-to-touch and was temperature neutral rather than cooling, scoring 4 out of 5

When it comes to the most important area — judging how well these pillows perform at cooling — the Casper Hybrid comes out on top. Our reviewer was so impressed she had to "break the Tom's Guide rating system," scoring it a sensational 5.5 out of 5 stars.

Generally a hot sleeper, our reviewer noted that Casper's cooling technology kept her "perfectly cool" during the warmer months. Not only was the cover actually cool-to-touch but the pillow effectively transferred away any heat and moisture, so she never woke up feeling overheated.

While we gave the Coop Cool+ a reasonable score of 4 out of 5 stars (read the full Coop Cool+ Adjustable pillow review fpr closer testing analysis), it didn't deliver what we expected from a pillow designed specifically for cooling. Our reviewer reported that she didn't experience any active cooling while testing the Cool+ during summer, instead describing it as "neutral, temperature-wise."
