Our first impression after unboxing and objectively testing this mattress is that it does what it promises to, offering cooling relief, sturdy support and cushioning comfort in equal measure — all without breaking the bank.

The best mattress for you will depend on your sleep needs, sleep style and budget. But we think the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid covers a lot of bases and would be a good investment for many sleepers this summer.

At 14" tall, it was a bit of a clamber to get on for our 5'3" tester, but we think it's worth it for the sturdiness you feel when laying on it. We found it supportive and comfortable in all sleeping positions and didn't feel sucked in when switching between them.

Evergreen Brooklyn Bedding mattress sales consistently knock at least 25% off MSRP, and that discount is even sweeter at the moment thanks to the brand's spring sale. There's 30% off now, bringing a queen size under $940 — we think that's exceptional value on such a luxury-feeling mattress.

Despite its affordable price, Brooklyn Bedding doesn't skimp on quality. Read on to find out exactly why we're so impressed with this hybrid mattress...

Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress: Design

  • A 14" seven-layer hybrid mattress
  • Honeycomb quilted surface adds luxury feel
  • Copper-infused foam boosts cooling and hygiene

The first thing we noticed about the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress is its impressive height and pleasing aesthetic. For a affordable mattress, it certainly looks and feels premium.

Despite its affordable price point, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid is made with high-quality materials. It is designed with a combination of cooling technology, contouring foams and supportive coils, all wrapped up in a navy, bronze and white-top cover.

The plush pillow top cover has honeycomb stitching and ribbing giving it a satisfying feel when you run your hands over it and plenty of contouring when you lay on it. This cover is also lined with GlacioTex to enhance temperature regulation.

Beneath this there's quilted foam and copper-infused foam that reduces pressure on the joints and is said to conduct heat away from the body.

Next comes transition foam and coils targeting lumbar support and providing motion isolation. Finally, there's a layer of high-density foam giving the mattress durability.

At 14", the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid surpasses the mattress thickness we recommend for adults with ease, meaning it should be sturdy enough for a wide range of body weights. However, if you are a particularly heavy front or back sleeper, we recommend heading to our best mattress for heavy people guide.

Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress: Comfort & pressure relief

  • Medium-firm feel supports a range of sleep positions
  • Hybrid design provides ample cushioning and support
  • Best for side sleepers

Brooklyn Bedding position the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid as a 7/10 medium-firm mattress, and we'd agree with this rating. It's cushioning enough to relieve pressure points, but not lacking lumbar support

The ribbed surface also helps contouring so you can really feel the mattress responding to your movements. It is quite a plush pillow top surface, so you do feel yourself sinking in slightly, but not enough to make moving between sleep positions a challenge.

Our testers say it was easy to move around and didn't feel like they had to fight their way out of the foam to switch from side to side. For extra cushioning, you can shop the memory foam model.

Our testing panel found the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid comfortable and supportive in all positions. One tester found it most comfortable while side sleeping, while another found it particularly comfortable on their back.

Thanks to the pillow top surface, the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid is an ideal mattress for side sleepers and light weight combination sleepers. But strict stomach sleepers would benefit from a firmer bed like the Plank Firm mattress by Brooklyn Bedding.

Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress: Performance

  • Initial sink at edges, but supportive enough
  • Minimal motion transfer
  • Cool to touch and packed with cooling tech

We followed our thorough mattress methodology to assess how well the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress performs in terms of edge support, motion isolation and temperature regulation. Here's what we found upon testing...

Edge support

As part of our objective testing procedure, we placed a 25kg weight on all corners and edges and in the centre of the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress. We observed a 3.5" sink in all areas.

Although that sounds like a lot of sink, one must remember this is a pillow top hybrid mattress, so we expect the plush surface to dip a lot.

Plus, the mattress edges and surface bounced back quickly when the force of the weight was removed.

When sitting on the edge of the mattress, the initial sink you experience is down to its plush pillow top cover. Otherwise, it doesn't feel as though the mattress was collapsing or tilting. Hence, we found it had adequate edge support that shouldn't cause a problem for anyone without mobility issues.

Motion isolation

Motion isolation is important for couples with different sleep schedules, or where one partner tosses and turns while the other sleeps.

To test how well the CopperFlex performs in this area, we balanced a wine glass in the middle of the bed (where a person would sleep) and held a 4kg weight 4" and 8" above the mattress and dropped it from 25", 10", and 4" away at both levels. When the weight dropped, we noted the movement of the wine glass.

From 25" away, the wine glass didn't budge, indicating strong motion isolation. There was a slight wobble 10", but the glass held its stance. From 4", however, there was a significant wobble and the glass fell, but this is expected.

That's a great performance, showing that the mattress prevented a lot of motion from transferring from one side of the bed to the other, making it a good option for couples.

Temperature regulation

We're yet to get an accurate gauge on how well the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex regulates temperature through the night as we tested the mattress in our climate-controlled sleep studio.

That said, we found the surface was cool to touch and we definitely felt a cooling sensation when we laid on it. From first impressions, and considering it is infused with high thermal conductivity copper filaments and GlacioTex , we have faith in the temperature-regulating capabilities of this mattress.

In mattresses, GlacioTex and copper help conduct heat away from the body, dispelling it through the mattress surface. As such, we think it even has potential to make our best cooling mattress of the year guide after a longer testing period. Stay tuned for our full review.

Setup

The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex is delivered rolled up in a compact box for an easier shipping and installing process.

Our CopperFlex mattress was packaged well and was easy to unbox with two sets of hands. As we'd expect, there was minimal off gassing smell but this quickly dissipated. After inspecting, we were confident there wasn't any snags in the mattress stitching.

Like all the best mattresses in a box, the brand says it can take up to 24 hours for the mattress to inflate completely. But we found it looked ready to sleep on within minutes. We still left it a day before testing, to give it its best shot.

Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress: User reviews

As a fairly new mattress, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex doesn't have any customer reviews on either the Brooklyn Bedding site or Amazon. But we've scouted around to hear what other reviewers think.

Video reviewers at Brooklyn Bedding credit the CopperFlex mattresses for their high quality build and easy set up process.

CNET describe the mattress as "comfortable, versatile and supportive" at "a very budget-friendly price" and we couldn't agree more. Plus, the bed was been nominated for the Oprah Daily Sleep O-Wards 2025.

Overall, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress is making a good name for itself already. Praiseworthy features include its reasonable price point, luxury build, comfortability, support and accommodation of different sleep types.

Should you buy the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress?

Buy the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress if...

✅ You're a combination sleeper: The medium-firm feel of this mattress offers support in all sleeping positions for the average weight sleeper and, without too much sinkage, it is easy to switch between positions.

You sleep slightly hot: Built with temperature-regulating copper and GlacioTex, this mattress promises superb climate control. We were super impressed with its cool-to-touch surface.

You're looking for luxury on a budget: If you blind tested this mattress, we're confident you'd think it is more high-end that it actually is in terms of price. It is tall, has a luxury feel and is packed with quality materials.

Don't buy the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress if...

You sleep on your stomach: As a pillow top medium-firm mattress, the CopperFlex Pro Hybrid is unlikely to provide the crucial responsive support needed to prevent spinal dips when stomach sleeping.

❌ You want more of a memory foam 'hug': The CopperFlex Pro Hybrid offers ample cloud-like cushioning thanks to its foam layers. But if you prefer a super soft bed surface, the CopperFlex Pro Memory Foam mattress could be a better shout.

❌ You're over 250lbs: While this 14" mattress is sure to support a range of sleep positions and body weights, it is perhaps too soft for heavier weight sleepers who need a more responsive, firm sleep surface delivered by the likes of the WinkBed mattress.

The bottom line

The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid lives up to its promise of affordable luxury. From first viewing we were impressed with how premium this mattress looks, thanks to its height and plush-looking honeycomb surface. It passed our mattress tests with flying colors and provides ample support in all sleep positions. We're excited to see how it performs during our longer at-home testing period. Stay tuned.
