The Ninja Precision Temperature kettle is easily one of the best electric kettles I’ve ever used. You shouldn’t expect much else from Ninja — it’s one of the most respected home appliance manufacturers out there.
Well, what makes this particular electric kettle so good, I hear you ask? Not only does it have six temperature presets, you can customize your temperature to the degree. So you could heat water to 83°F or 141°F or 211°F if you wanted. The 60-ounce capacity means you could make a pot of tea for the whole family, or even use the kettle to pre-boil pasta water for fast meal prep.
The Precision Brewer works great and it looks a treat, too. The Ninja kettle has made itself right at home on my kitchen countertop, and I don’t see it going anywhere. I’ll run you through everything that makes this kettle a 5* product in this full Ninja Precision Temperature Kettle review.

The Ninja Precision Temperature kettle is $89 from Amazon U.S. and £99 from Amazon U.K..In the U.K., the Precision Temperature kettle goes by a different name: Ninja Perfect Temperature (KT200) kettle. But don’t worry — it’s the same product.
In terms of price, $89 is actually pretty decent for a kettle of this quality. Other feature-stuffed specialty kettles can cost hundreds more— the Fellow Corvo EKG kettle, which performs about the same as the Ninja Precision Temperature, is $195. Another premium kettle is the $250 Aarke Kettle, which doesn’t have precision temperatures, unlike the $99 Cuisinart kettle, which comes with six preset temperatures. One of the cheapest precision temperature kettles I’ve seen is the $44 Hamilton Beach kettle — you may know Hamilton Beach from its superpowered (and pricey) blenders, but this kettle is a fantastic deal.
Ninja Precision Temperature kettle review: Design & features
Although some could say the Precision Temperature’s design is a little dull, I personally love it. No, it doesn’t have the hipster beauty you’d find on the Fellow Stagg EKG kettle, but the Ninja looks good and gets the job done. I tested the matte black version, which looks amazing on my countertop. The base is easy to use with tactile buttons and the LED screen is bright. The light is orange when boiling and the kettle emits a little jingle when it’s finished.
In terms of features, the Precision Temperature has everything you’d expect from a ‘precision’ kettle. You can customize your temperature to any degree, not just the six presets, and the kettle keeps water at boiling point for up to thirty minutes.
Ninja Precision Temperature kettle review: Performance
I was really impressed with the Precision Temperature’s performance in every aspect. For continuity’s sake, I’ll discuss the following five points: Full capacity boiling time; water temperature an hour later with and without the hold setting activated; external temperature of the kettle during boiling; ease of use in tea and coffee preparation; noise.
Ninja’s kettle has a capacity of 60 ounces (1.7 liters), which is a lot bigger than other kettles I’ve reviewed recently. Whereas the Fellow Corvo EKG took 5 minutes to brew its full capacity (30 ounces), the Precision Temperature took just 4 minutes and 10 seconds to boil 60 ounces. This makes the Ninja Precision Temperature more than double the speed of the Corvo — which I didn’t regard as particularly slow in my 4-star review.
And the Precision Temperature doesn’t make a racket while boiling, either.

It’s so quiet that I barely noticed even when it was boiling away. When the kettle is boiling, though, I wouldn’t make a habit of pressing your palm flat to the exterior — it gets quite hot. This is the case of other kettles I’ve used; I actually can’t think of any that are noticeably cool to the touch during use.
Despite being single-walled and not advertised as an insulating kettle, two hours after boiling, the water was still at 122°F/50°C.
Not only is the Precision Temperature adept at boiling precise water temperatures for tea, it is also simply a great kitchen assistant. Some delicate Japanese green teas like matcha need specific temperatures — the one I use asks for 149°F/65°C, for example. Some coffee beans require cooler temperatures, too, and espresso is best turned into americano with 200°F/93°C.
I was able to boil water for pasta, ramen, soup, and instant meals easily. Although the spout isn’t a gooseneck spout, when I was making my morning V60 coffee, I was able to pour the water in neat circular motions with a controlled flow rate.
The Ninja Precision Temperature kettle is a fantastic kettle for tea, coffee, and general cooking use. I can’t find any faults with this kettle — I want to keep it in my kitchen forever.
Ninja Precision Temperature kettle review: Storage & maintenance
This isn’t a complaint or a con in the slightest, just a forewarning-slash-tidbit. The Precision Temperature kettle’s cord is 25 inches, which is quite long for those whose ideal kettle placement is a good distance away from your power outlet. However, you can wind the cord under the base as much as you need: I shortened the cord on mine until it was just 4 inches. I’d recommend customizing this length based on your space otherwise the cord gets in the way.
The Ninja kettle is easy to maintain and clean as you would any other kettle. The interior is plainly visible so you can keep an eye on limescale build up and deal with as and when.

Should you buy the Ninja Precision Temperature kettle?
In short: yes. If you want a kettle that does everything you want it to and more, then yes, the Ninja Precision Temperature kettle is for you. I love being able to specify exactly what temperature I want my water for my specialty teas, V60 coffee preparation, and also boil 60 ounces of water in under 5 minutes — perfect for prepping large amounts of pasta quickly.
I don’t see myself switching to another kettle for a long, long time, and I’ll bet that if you get the Ninja kettle, you won’t be either.
