With the BLUETTI AC500, power outage problems will be a thing of the past
While we’d like to think that we won’t have to worry about blackouts too often, the reality is that they’ve become significantly more common than they were a few years ago. As a result, it’s more important than ever to have a backup solution to provide temporary power for your devices and appliances, especially in situations where the weather is particularly rough and temperatures are dangerously high or low.
One of the best tools you can use for this are battery-powered power stations, and the upcoming BLUETTI AC500 — along with its B300S companion batteries — looks like it’s going to be one of the top options available for power outage survival when it releases later in 2022. Between its high power output, large battery capacity, wide variety of ports, and compact size, the new power station will give you everything you need to endure a blackout.
More than anything else, what stands out the most about the BLUETTI AC500 is just how much power it’s capable of putting out, as well as how high of a maximum battery capacity it has. Its 5000W pure sine converter makes it possible to provide electricity to any high-power device or appliance that you hook up to it, and since you can connect up to six 3,072Wh B300S batteries to the station, you can enjoy a massive maximum capacity of 18,432Wh. This guarantees that you’ll be able to keep essential electronics running for significant periods of time, which is incredibly valuable during extended outages. Notably, the AC500 is Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) capable, as it starts providing power to connected devices in just 20 milliseconds after the start of a blackout. You also get plenty of charging options; when you need to juice the station up, you can do so using a wall outlet, solar panels, your car’s cigarette lighter port, a lead-acid battery, or a generator. The AC500 charges to 80% within an hour, too, so you won’t have to wait long to charge up between uses.
Another benefit of the power station is that, thanks to its large port variety, it supports a huge range of devices and appliances. It comes with a number of AC outlets (three 120V/20A Outlets, one 120V/30A L14-30, one 120V/30A TT-30, one 120V/50A NEMA14-50), two DC outlets (one 12V/30A, one 24V/10A), two 100W USB-C ports, four USB-A slots (two 5V/3A, two 18W), and dual 15W wireless charging pads. Using these connection methods, it’s possible to hook up everything from smartphones and laptops to refrigerators, microwaves, and elements of your home’s HVAC system.
Compared to comparable power stations and gas generators, the AC500 is also impressively light and compact. Weighing in at 66.2lbs (30kg) with dimensions of 20.5 x 12.8 x 14.1 inches ( 52 x 32.5 x 35.8 centimeters), the AC500 is light and small enough to be set up by just one person. Compared to generators that often weigh well over 100 pounds and are too bulky for a single individual to move into position, the AC500 will be significantly more user-friendly. Its B300S companion batteries are a bit heavier at 79.6lbs (36.1kg), but since they’re detachable, you can carry them separate from the main power station.
Overall, between its excellent power output, massive max battery capacity, top-notch port selection, and its lightweight and compact design, the BLUETTI AC500 looks like it’s going to become one of the best power stations on the market when it officially goes on sale later this year. If you want to snag one for you and yours, head to the BLUETTI website and enter your email to subscribe to the manufacturer’s free newsletter. By doing so, you’ll get a heads up when BLUETTI plans to release the power station, and will even be able to take advantage of a special “early bird” discount, too.
