The plot: Prime Video taps into the teen romance genre again with this adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel. When Percy Fraser (Sadie Soverall) returns to the lake town she walked away from years earlier, she comes face-to-face with Sam Florek (Matt Cornett), the first boy to hold — and break — her heart. Shifting between nostalgic summer memories and present-day complications, the series explores whether a first love can also be a forever love.

‘Grantchester’ season 11 (PBS)
The vibes: One last summer in Grantchester before the winds of change blow through.
The plot: The final season of the British detective drama finds the residents of Grantchester facing major turning points in the summer of 1963. Alphy (Rishi Nair) wrestles with doubts about his future while growing closer to Meg (Christie Russell-Brown), only to find himself caught up in a baffling train murder investigation. Meanwhile, Geordie (Robson Green) is offered a career opportunity that could reshape his longtime partnership with Alphy, as the village braces for a future that looks very different from its past.

‘Alice and Steve’ (Hulu)
The vibes: A British "Beef" about the worst kind of breakup — between friends.
The plot: From “Sex Education” writer Sophie Goodhart comes this “wrong-com” led by Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement as lifelong friends whose relationship detonates when Steve begins dating Alice’s 26-year-old daughter, Izzy (Yali Topol Margalith). Shock turns into boiling anger, which then mutates into a full-on feud with passive-aggressive asides at awkward parties, social and career sabotage, and escalating humiliation.

‘The Listeners’ (Starz)
The vibes: Like a mosquito constantly buzzing around your head, but everyone says it doesn't exist.
The plot: Jordan Tannahill adapts his own novel into a psychological thriller miniseries starring Rebecca Hall as Claire, a teacher whose life begins to fall apart when she starts hearing a persistent low-frequency hum no one else can perceive. The sound brings on migraines, sleepless nights and growing strain at home. When she learns a student (Ollie West) hears it too, their connection pulls them into a strange community that believes the noise is some kind of message.

The vibes: Moonwalks and megahits pepper a very carefully curated trip through pop history.
The plot: This biopic is a lavish portrait of the King of Pop's ascent from child prodigy to global phenomenon. Jaafar Jackson steps into his uncle's sequined glove, chronicling the singer's journey from the Jackson 5 to the heights of late-'80s superstardom. The film recreates one iconic performance after another, even as it sidesteps the messier chapters of its subject's life.

‘Mortal Kombat II’ (digital)
The vibes: Karl Urban punches a demon in the groin. That’s all you really need to know.
The plot: Earthrealm is once again facing total annihilation, which means it's time for another tournament packed with ninjas, monsters, demigods and people whose primary hobby is crushing bones. The newest recruit is washed-up movie star Johnny Cage (Karl Urban), who’s recruited by Raiden (Tadanobu Asano) and Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee) for a battle and discovers that saving the world is somehow easier than reviving his acting career.
