England will be looking for a huge improvement from the chastening 28-run defeat at Southampton earlier in the week. Phil Salt's deputization for the injured Jos Buttler really didn't go according to plan, and more did the introduction of the three debutants. If they don't manage a confidence building win today, then things could quickly get even worse for the former world champions.
Things couldn't have started much better for the tourists in the 1st T20 international. Alongside Head's 59 from 23, Matt Short showed that he may just be the David Warner replacement the Aussies have been yearning for. Josh Inglis was also able to reinforce his place as an impact batter-keeper, with veteran Josh Hazelwood showing that he still has plenty to offer with the white ball. With their foot on England's throat, it's unlikely they'll be in any mood to give an inch.h their foot on England's throat, it's unlikely they'll be in any mood to give an inch.
