Prime Video’s top 10 chart is always shifting, with new releases jostling for position and long-running favorites like “The Terminal List: Dark Wolf” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” holding steady at the top. While it’s a handy guide for your next binge, not every trending show is worth your time.

That’s why we’ve filtered through the chatter to spotlight three titles that truly deserve attention, focusing on the more recent entries in the top 10 and highlighting the ones I’ll be adding to my weekend watchlist.

This week’s selections include the highly anticipated return of “Gen V” with new episodes releasing every Wednesday, a fresh action-drama climbing the charts and a hit mystery thriller that’s already been renewed for season 2.

This list is based on the Prime Video top 10 U.S shows as of Thursday, October 2, 2025.

‘Hotel Costiera’

Prime Video’s new original, “Hotel Costiera,” delivers an action-packed drama set along Italy’s picturesque sun-soaked coastline. Even as temperatures drop going into October, the series clearly has viewers hooked as it climbs the streaming charts. I guess there’s something about a bright show that can instantly lift your mood in these colder months.

Fellow streaming writer Martin Shore called the series “simple, escapist viewing,” and added that “if you need some fun in the sun or a slice of escapist, trouble-in-paradise action, Prime Video's new arrival just might be worth checking out.”

“Hotel Costiera” follows Daniel De Luca (Jesse Williams), a half-Italian former U.S. Marine who returns to his childhood home in Positano, Italy. There, he takes on the role of a “fixer” at the luxurious Hotel Costiera, assisting the wealthy clientele with their various issues. Amid his duties, Daniel becomes involved in the search for Alice, the owner's missing daughter. Managing both the hotel and the delicate dynamics of upper-class life, Daniel races to uncover the fate of Alice.

‘We Were Liars’

Even though “We Were Liars” dropped back in June, it’s one of those shows that refuses to fade away. In fact, Prime Video has already renewed it for a second season, so anyone who was holding off to see if it actually had staying power can have peace of mind. With fresh attention pushing it back into the top 10, it’s clear the series has legs. And if you’ve been on the fence about diving in, now’s probably the best time to catch up before the story continues.

When 17-year-old Cadence Sinclair (Emily Alyn Lind) returns to her family’s private summer island after a traumatic accident, she finds herself haunted by gaps in her memory and desperate to uncover what really happened. Each summer, she and three close friends — Johnny (Joseph Zada), Mirren (Esther McGregor) and Gat (Shubham Maheshwari) — explore the island together, but following the accident, no one seems willing to speak of that fateful night.

As Cadence pieces together fragments of flashbacks and confronts reluctant family members, she realizes that the secrets kept by her loved ones stretch deeper than she ever imagined.

‘Gen V’

With “Gen V” season 2 continuing to dominate, it’s clear why the series has deservedly taken the No. 1 spot on Prime Video. For anyone planning to dive into “The Boys” season 5, catching up on this spinoff first is highly recommended. Showrunner Eric Kripke has even emphasized that “there's a lot in Gen V that really helps set up the climax of this final confrontation in The Boys.”

“Gen V” season 2 picks up with Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (Derek Luh / London Thor) and Emma (Lizze Broadway) returning to Godolkin University after months of trauma. The campus is now under Vought's control, with a new dean, Cipher, leading a curriculum designed to make students more powerful than ever. Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann) have become celebrated heroes, while the rest of the group grapple with their pasts.

As tensions rise between humans and Supes, the students uncover a secret program dating back to the 1960s that could have significant implications for the present.
