If you're struggling to decide what to watch on Prime Video, its most-watched movies list is a great place to start. The ranking highlights the films currently attracting the biggest audiences on the platform.

Of course, popularity doesn't necessarily mean a movie deserves a watch. Prime Video's current top 10 includes several forgettable titles, so I've narrowed it down to the three films I'd genuinely recommend. That includes one of Gerard Butler’s best action-thriller movies and an overlooked epic western film starring Kevin Costner.

The picks below are based on Prime Video’s top 10 as of Monday, June 15, 2026, so if you’re after the standout titles in a fairly underwhelming chart, here’s my curated selection.

‘Horizon: An American Saga’ (2024)

“Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1” is a massive, multi-part cinematic project directed, co-written, produced by, and starring Kevin Costner. It represents the realization of a decades-long passion project that Costner first conceived in 1988. Instead of a self-contained story, this first chapter functions as the opening act of a planned four-film cinematic experience exploring the expansion of the American West. Even though the saga is on hold right now due to the film’s box office performance, it’s still worth watching for western fans.

Chapter 1 follows several interconnected stories set across the American frontier during the Civil War era. As settlers travel west in search of land and opportunity, a new settlement called Horizon becomes the focal point for those trying to build new lives. After a deadly attack devastates one community, survivors struggle to move forward while others embark on dangerous journeys across unforgiving territory. The film introduces a large ensemble of characters played by Kevin Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Michael Rooker, Jamie Campbell Bower, and more.

‘Plane’ (2023)

If you’re in the mood for a lean, old-school thriller film, you’ll want to add “Plane” to your watchlist. This is a tight, 107-minute rollercoaster that embraces the B-movie action aesthetic of the 1990s, and even the title itself became a bit of an internet meme upon release for being so aggressively direct (but at least you know what to expect). “Plane” is also one of Gerard Butler’s strongest action films, largely because it avoids the overly polished, CGI-heavy style common in many modern blockbusters.

Commercial pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) captains a flight from Singapore to Hawaii during a severe storm. After a lightning strike causes catastrophic damage to the aircraft, Torrance manages to make an emergency landing on a remote island in the Philippines. While the passengers initially survive the crash, they soon discover they have landed in territory controlled by heavily armed militants. When several passengers are taken hostage, Torrance is forced to work alongside Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), a prisoner who was being transported on the flight.

‘One Battle After Another’ (2025)

We’re ending this list with the latest Best Picture winner, “One Battle After Another.” This chaotic action-comedy-thriller was written, directed, and produced by acclaimed filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson. Clocking in with a massive production budget between $130 million and $175 million, it is by far the most expensive film of Anderson’s career, but also his highest-grossing film to date. It holds some incredible performances, action set pieces, and a story that never loses momentum despite its lengthy runtime.

Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a former radical activist living under an assumed identity in a California sanctuary city with his teenage daughter, Willa (Chase Infiniti). Sixteen years earlier, Bob’s revolutionary group was dismantled after betrayals and government crackdowns, forcing him into hiding. When Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw (Sean Penn), a powerful military figure tied to Bob’s past, reappears, Willa becomes the target of a dangerous manhunt. Soon, Bob is separated from his daughter and goes on a frantic search to find her.
