Bad news, Netflix fans: another U.K. price hike is inbound.
Just a couple of weeks after the streaming service pushed prices up across the U.S., Canada, Portugal, and Argentina, Netflix has quietly brought in a pretty significant price increase that affects all U.K. membership tiers.
Netflix Standard With Ads has risen by £1, to £5.99/month. The Standard plan has gone up by £2, and will now set you back £12.99 per month for full HD streaming without ads, while Netflix Premium (4K streaming, four simultaneous streams) has gone up £1 to £18.99 a month.
If you have any Extra Member plans for people outside your normal Netflix household, you'll also be hit with rising fees. That's because Netflix has introduced a second tier of its Extra Member option.
The current £4.99/month tier has been relegated to an ad-supported offering. If your additional member(s) instead want the privilege of ad-free streaming, you'll need to switch them to the more expensive £5.99/month Extra Member plan. As a reminder, Standard subscribers can add one extra member to their account, whereas Premium Netflix account holders can add up to two.
The Standard plan has gone up by £2, and will now set you back £12.99 per month for full HD streaming without ads.
Existing subscribers won't see this new price increase until their next renewal date, but if you don't have your own account, you'll start paying the new price immediately upon sign-up.
