FAQs

Does ecoATM buy locked devices?

Yes, ecoATM will offer quotes on locked & unlocked tech, so you don't need to worry about making sure you've unlocked your device before you sell it. Just make sure to let them know in the quote process and be sure to factory reset before you take it to the kiosk!

How do I prepare my device for dropping off?

To get your tech ready to be sold, ecoATM requires you to perform a factory reset (and also disable the "Find My iPhone" feature on iPhones). You will also need to bring photo ID along to the drop-off with you to verify your identity and eligibility to sell your devices. If you need more support, you can find guidance on how to prepare for trade-in on the dedicated page on the brand's website.

How to I find my nearest kiosk?

There are over 6000 ecoATM kiosks located across the USA, many of which can be found in malls, Walmart and other public, accessible places. Just enter your zip code into the dedicated kiosk locator page on the brand's website and you can see a list of your closest kiosks, filtered closest first.

Hints and Tips

Cash offers: Occasionally, ecoATM will run limited-time cash offers, giving customers a chance to earn a little extra for their devices. These offers tend to appear around key promotional periods such as Christmas, New Year and Black Friday, but they're only around for a short time, so make the most of them whilst they're available.

Charge your device: ecoATM offers as much as $50 more for devices that have enough charge to switch on when they're picked up from the kiosk, so making sure your tech is charged before you sell it is an easy way to maximise your earnings.

Newsletter: If you want to stay up to date with the latest ecoATM news, you can sign up to the newsletter by providing an email address. Once you're on the mailing list, you'll receive emails to your inbox regularly with any info on new blog posts and any cash offers.

Social media: You can also follow ecoATM on a number of social media channels including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Once you've subscribed, you'll see the latest updates on your feed as soon as they're available.

How we source coupon codes

The coupons you’ll find on Tom’s Guide have been sourced by our dedicated coupons team, who use the web, our relationships with retailers, & our affiliate networks to find the latest codes. The offers on each coupon page are updated every few days to ensure we feature the freshest ways to save, and our commercial team (based in London) also sources exclusive codes and sales info directly from some of the biggest retailers around.

How we test coupon codes

All the coupon codes we list on our pages have been tested by our deals & offers teams to check they work as intended before they’ve been uploaded. You’ll find a wide range of coupons on Tom’s Guide, including free shipping offers, student discounts, and savings on various kinds of products.

To ensure that all listed codes are available to use, we don’t include any one-time use or user-specific coupons. We also provide as much information as we can to keep things as clear as possible - any expiry dates or terms & conditions will be listed alongside the code. Look for the ‘Terms & Conditions’ text - you’ll be able to click this to expand this section for more details.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

We take care to only list tried & tested coupons on our pages, so all codes should be active and confer the listed discount or deal. However, although we keep up to date with expiry dates and any terms & conditions, sometimes retailers change these before we can update our pages.

Should a coupon fail to work as expected, check you meet any listed requirements. These can include minimum spends, multibuy offers, or product-specific promotions (i.e. 10% off selected tablets). You can view all associated requirements by clicking “View terms and conditions” below your code.

If this does not solve your issue, you can contact our customer service team by emailing coupons.tomsguide@futurenet.com. Make sure to let us know which coupon you were trying to use and which page this was listed on, and we’ll be in touch to help as soon as possible.

How we make money

Tom’s Guide makes money from coupons through a commission-based model. We have agreements in place with each retailer on our site - for every purchase made using one of our coupons or deals, we earn a small percentage of the order total back in commission.

Thanks to this model, we can save our customers money without charging them a thing. You won’t pay a penny to get the discounts listed on our pages, so whichever code or deal you choose, you’ll get exactly what it says on the tin.

About ecoATM

ecoATM is a device trade-in service which operates a series of self-service kiosks across the US. Founded in 2008, ecoATM buys old tech like mobiles, tablets, smartphones & MP3 players. Customers can get quotes online, then prepare their device for sale and drop it off at any of over 6000 locations across the country. In exchange, the brand offers quick payment and sustainable device recycling, with robust protections against the resale of any stolen tech. There is also an ecoATM app available to download for Android and iOS, letting customers get quotes, prepare their devices and find their nearest trade-in location from their phone. On this page, you'll find the latest ecoATM promo codes which can get you a better quote on your second-hand tech.
