Labor Day is a great time to buy a new laptop and I’ve picked the best deals you can still get right now
My top picks for laptop deals you can still get on Macs, Dell and more

I don't need a new laptop, but if I were to buy one — now would be it. Labor Day is over, but some of the best laptop sales are still hanging around. In other words, it's an excellent time to score a deal on some of the best laptops we've tested here at Tom's Guide, but you need to act fast.
As a MacBook Air user, I'm always looking for Apple deals and right now Amazon has MacBooks on sale from $799. This includes the excellent 13-inch MacBook Air (M4) for $799 and the 15-inch MacBook Air (M4) for $999. Those are the best MacBook prices I've seen all year and I'm shocked they're still available.
If you're a Windows user, it's hard to beat Best Buy. Right now Best Buy has Windows laptops on sale from $219. I'm a fan of the Lenovo IdeaPad 1i for $379. It's an absurdly cheap price for a machine that packs a 15.6-inch 1080p touchscreen display, Core i5-1334U CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. You're not going to play the latest games on this laptop, but it's great for home, work, or school.
In my opinion, Dell also deserves a shoutout. The Alienware 16 Aurora with RTX 5050 is on sale for just $899. I've seen plenty of Dell deals and this is hands-down the cheapest Alienware rig I've seen possibly in the past two years. (You can check out my Dell Labor Day sale roundup for more recommendations).
Below I'm tallying all the best Labor Day laptop sales that are still available right now. Every machine I'm recommending is guaranteed to last you for several years thanks to their impressive spec sheets. The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is technically an Android tablet that can double as a laptop. It comes with Lenovo's Tab Pen Pro stylus and a Yoga Tab Plus keyboard. Under the hood, you'll find a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 16GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. There's also a stunning 12.7-inch 3K (2944 x 1840) 144Hz display and a 13-megapixel camera in the front and back.

In our MacBook Air M4 review, we said the Editor's Choice laptop is irresistible thanks to its speedy performance, sharper camera and lower starting price.
By far the best deal I've seen on an RTX 5050 gaming laptop all year, the Alienware 16 Aurora is now $300 off, and it only recently launched. Along with its RTX 5050 GPU, expect an Intel Core 7-240H CPU, 16GB of RAM, 512GB for storage, and a 16-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Windows
The Acer Aspire Go 15 made our list of the best laptops as the best value pick, and it's even better value now that it's on sale for a discount! You get a roomy 15.6-inch display, 10 hours of battery life and plenty of ports. We also like its comfortable keyboard, and its Intel Core i3 processor is enough to handle everyday tasks. The webcam and speakers aren't great, but that's not too bad for the price.
For students on a budget, the IdeaPad Slim 5 is an excellent pick — especially at its current price. It’s equipped with a new AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and a large 16-inch, 1920 x 1200-pixel touch display.
Want an inexpensive Copilot+ PC? This 15.6-inch laptop won't disappoint despite its low price. It features a Snapdragon X Plus CPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Its 15.6-inch 1080p display is pretty standard, but at this price that's no dealbreaker.
In this impressively thin, light and premium-feeling notebook, you'll find a drop dead gorgeous OLED display, Core Ultra 9-285H chipset, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. We reviewed the smaller 15-inch model and in our Asus Vivobook S 15 Copilot+ PC review, we said the Editor's Choice laptop is a great machine that puts Microsoft on a new path to truly take on the mighty MacBook.
This is one of the best Copilot+ PC deals available! This 16-inch laptop features an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU for impressive performance and power efficiency, complemented by 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It's all topped off with its gorgeous 120Hz AMOLED display.
Gaming
If you're looking to lock in with an upgrade on the classic Aurora laptop, the 16X model is a step up (though it's also pricier). Fortunately, there's $200 off this build with Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor, 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD and an RTX 5060 GPU. Display wise, you're looking at WQXGA with a 240Hz refresh rate.
Save big on this RTX 5060-powered HP Omen 17.3" configuration, an ideal pick for casual games or graphically intensive games at lower settings. It’s equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 5 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. You also get a 17.3-inch 1080p 144Hz display.
As another gaming laptop that can pump out wicked gaming performance in a sleek design, the Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 is now on sale for a discount. You can expect an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, an RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD. All PC games will look buttery smooth on its 14.5-inch WQXGA+ (2880 x 1800) IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate.
The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S has everything you need for solid mid-range gaming. It sports a 16-inch OLED display with a sharp 1600p resolution, an Intel Core "Lunar Lake" Ultra 9 CPU, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, and an RTX 5070 Ti GPU. The Alienware 16 Area 51 Laptop is a new 2025 machine powered by Nvidia's new RTX 5070 GPU. This configuration also features an amazing 16-inch 2560 x 1600 240Hz LCD, Core Ultra 9-275HX CPU, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Yes, it's pricey, but this is one of the first discounts we've seen on Alienware's just-released laptops.
You can now grab this beefy Alienware x16 R2 gaming laptop for a discount. Sporting an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a neat 16-inch FHD (1920 x 1200) 240Hz display, you bet it can make any game you throw at it look spectacular.
MacBooks
The MacBook Air M1 offers fantastic performance and value. The M1 CPU never stuttered in our tests and also helped it reach over 14 hours of battery life. It features a 13.3-inch Retina display, Apple M1 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. In our MacBook Air M1 review, we said it offers amazing endurance and shockingly good speed.

I prefer this deal over the M1-based deal mentioned above because you get a slightly newer M2 processor. More importantly, you get 16GB of RAM (instead of 8GB), which should allow for better multi-tasking. It sports a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, a speedy Apple M2 CPU w/ 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, and a great 1080p FaceTime camera. In our MacBook Air M2 review we lauded this Editor's Choice laptop for its versatility and battery life, so don't miss your chance to get one at a great discount.
The new MacBook Air is powered by Apple's latest M4 chipset. It upgrades the camera from 1080p to 12MP with Center Stage support. The M4 chipset also supports dual external monitors, even when you have the laptop's lid open. It packs a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display (2560 x 1664), Apple's M4 CPU w/ 10-core GPU, 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. In our MacBook Air M4 review, we said the Editor's Choice laptop is irresistible thanks to its speedy performance, sharper camera and lower starting price.
The M4-based MacBook Pro M4 is pretty close to being the perfect laptop. You get fantastic performance from the M4 chip, useful Apple Intelligence features, a better webcam and obscenely long battery life (18:31). In our MacBook Pro 14-inch M4 review, we said it's the best laptop for power users, now with more AI features. The base model features a 14.2-inch 3024 x 1964 Retina display, Apple M4 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

Chromebooks
As long as you have a good connection, this Chromebook is well suited for Cloud gaming. It has a 16-inch display, an Intel Core i3-1215U, 8GB RAM and an 128GB eMMC. These specs mean it's a solid choice for everyday work, too.
The Galaxy Chromebook Plus is one of the most expensive Chromebooks out there, but this deal makes it a more reasonable price by slashing $150 off. To be fair, you do get a lot of great specs in exchange for that price. This laptop comes with an Intel Core 3 100U processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of UFS storage, and a gorgeous 15.6-inch, 1920 x 1080-pixel AMOLED display.
If you're fine with cloud-based gaming, this Asus Chromebook is one of the best value gaming laptops you'll find. It comes with a 14-inch 144Hz display, RGB keyboard and access to NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Xbox Cloud Gaming. You can also flip it into tablet mode for more versatility.
