Julie Penfold
Julie writes about healthcare and medical issues for a variety of titles including leading national magazines, specialist journals and digital sites. She has been writing about health for more than 15 years now and still loves what she does. Julie's expertise lies in taking on a health topic and really understanding what the target audience needs and wants to know so she can ask the right questions when she speaks to top experts such as GPs, virologists, psychologists, consultant surgeons and dietitians. Julia is also able to write about complex clinical topics and distil those key need-to-knows into reader-friendly copy. What else? Julie's been a finalist in three national health and medical journalism awards for articles she's written on the care worker crisis, living with IBD and migraine-related rebound headaches. Julie is also a member of the Guild of Health Writers, Medical Journalists’ Association, National Union of Journalists and Women in Journalism.
