Corin Shearston
A journalist and musician based just outside of Sydney, Corin has extensive experience in writing about music, culture and news. He’s currently juggling his Bachelors in Communication – majoring in journalism – and an internship with Future Australia. He also holds a degree in radio presentation from the Australian Film, TV and Radio School (AFTRS) in 2016.
Since beginning his journalism career in 2016, Corin has written plenty of reviews, features and magazine cover stories. He began writing for the heavy music news website LOUD Online (which he still contributes to), then proceeded to write for The HAZE Magazine before beginning a position as the Youth Editor for The Sydney Sentinel.
After writing about politics, education and social issues, while interviewing artists, musicians, actors, activists, politicians, teachers, students, business people and other professionals, Corin is now interning with the Australian Tom’s Guide team. He also has experience as a community radio show presenter and a small business owner.
Being a passionate music fan since childhood, Corin started presenting his community radio show Sane By A Thread in 2015, which ran for three years, serving up mind-bending odysseys and fun tracks from realms of strange alternative music.
In 2019, Corin started an entertainment promotion agency with a friend specialising in promoting local musicians through professional writing and audiovisual excellence.
Corin began his parallel music career as a drummer in 2007, when he was just 10.
