If I upgrade the CPU to an i5 2430M on my Toshiba Satellite L775, can I upgrade the memory beyond 8GB?

I upgraded my processor and from the i5-2430M to the i7-2820QM and it recognizes the entire 16GB worth of memory:

Remember it's based on the processor bus speed and what quantity it will recognize, this unit does not have a motherboard limitation.
